So many times when someone asks if an interaction they’ve made is accessible, the fixes I provide them change their designs more than their code. You can slap a whole lotta aria on stuff to force fit a design but better to just fix the design so it works better for everyone.

Respected friends and acquaintances, initial-scale is dead! We are freed of its tyranny. You no longer need to include it in your HTML head. It is an obsolete part of your head's meta viewport declaration. The details: vale.rocks/micros/20260... #WebDev #HTML

Give me your best family friendly heckles to roast someone who insists on walking dangerous dogs around your neighborhood, when past bites and lawsuits haven’t deterred them. I want to get into this guy’s head like a mild horror movie

I’ve been working for months on a course overhaul, primarily at night… not going to finish it before this 2nd baby comes but I’ll keep on it. I’m proud of the updates so far! There’s even a mini design system in the workshop materials now 🥰

Seeing numerous verbal offers for tech jobs getting rescinded days later, when there’s no budget to actually hire. Y’all need to quit doing that to job seekers. It’s atrocious!

I made an app! What Can't I Press helps you discover what keyboard shortcuts are already claimed by running apps, with a focus on screen readers. This helps prevent you from overriding something someone might rely on to get what they want or need. #a11y github.com/ericwbailey/...

This is Chootie. He looks like a dog, but from one of those 15th century paintings done by someone who had only ever heard about dogs. 12/10 (IG: chootieboy)
a very fluffy white creature with light brown markings on its back and ears is resting flat on some concrete tiles with a body like a slightly inflated bearskin rug. his legs and tail are merely puffy nubs, but his front paws are completely shaved for hygiene purposes, giving him the grabby-hands look of a feral raccoon. his face is an exuberant expression, with all his features slightly too close together, including his mismatched and somewhat human brown and blue eyes. he is simultaneously ridiculous and delightful.

Accessible presentation tip: read text aloud that appears on screen so people can follow along. Even auto-generated vocalization would be helpful! It can enhance an already great talk so much.
A Claude prompt example on screen that says “please document the code like a principal engineer. Make no mistakes.” And all the artifacts that follow. The speaker stands in front.
