The bike sharing prices here are way too high. Especially in light of Trimet cuts, we need to make alternative forms of transport much more affordable and widespread. Seems like a no brainer for the climate fund.

I am BEGGING the state of Oregon to realize that funding TriMet helps downtown recovery. It’s not just transit bringing folks to downtown, it’s also the fact that union TriMet employees make decent wages and those dollars get directly put back into small businesses in our city.

That's actually the worst of both worlds if you still have people voting on specific revenue raising for certain issues but then spend it elsewhere. I think you should vote for people who support issues important to you and make sure they have/levy the revenue to implement appropriate solutions.

Not to mention that the special taxes make people less inclined to support specific programs and policies. Take my high-earning neighbor who is decamping to Bend to avoid Preschool for All taxes. Do rich people in Copenhagen or Berlin see preschool taxes itemized out? Of course not.

There was one midsized pickup parked where I lived in Berlin and it jutted out two feet into the street past all the other cars - and Berlin streets are pretty wide for Europe!
