are perfectly correlated, then it remains simply “slightly unlikely” to win both. So when the pollers likely make the same (slightly) erroneous assumptions in all states, then it is not much more unlikely that he wins every swing state than just him winning the first. Hope that is more clear.

I think you might’ve have misunderstood my post slightly. Assume there are just two states and Trump is down in both. If the numbers (election_result-poll_result) between each state is uncorrelated, then it is slightly unlikely, that he wins the first, but extra unlikely he wins both. But if they

This is a statistical misunderstanding unfortunately. The sweep would be extremely unlikely *if* we assume that the discrepancy between poll results and election results in each state are uncorrelated. But they are highly correlated.
