In some northern Scots dialects, the word for gull is maw, which seems to me clearly cognate with the German Möwe, and might well also be cognate with mouette. BONUS TRAVEL TIP! There is a very nice bistro called Les Mouettes in Trouville on the Normandy coast. Do give it a try if you're in town.

That's a big monitor, yes. When working in HO, I almost always need to have multiple docs open at once on my screen. Impossible on a laptop; massive and inefficient PITA on a normal-sized monitor. So, my question... 2/n
