when I was a kid I heard another kid arguing about why he had to do service for others in the gurudwara and his parent was like "if you won't help others what is the point of you" and I've never forgotten that line.

I cannot believe family members are actively trying to get me to promote an anti-vax agenda and support RFK JR of all people. AND CLAIM THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE POLIO VACCINE??? Like no, I'm not going to do that! Leave me alone! Have some common sense!

maybe wishful thinking, but i do hope that gamers on bsky will be much more civil than those on twitter/x while the game awards are airing! 😅 let us remember that an award doesn’t define whether a video game is incredible or not. no matter who wins, all games nominated are great in their own way! 🎮

I'm always constantly battling the need to balance my research interests and my video game insights here. And honestly, I'm too lazy to separate them into different bluesky accounts and they're both a part of me. So apologies to both sides of my followers for getting the alternative side!

You know, sometimes I'm one of those people that go "hm, maybe the Game Awards should have a little more balance instead of 90% jury, 10% voting" and then I look at the Player's Voice being three gacha games, the Elden Ring DLC and Black Myth Wukong.... maybe Geoff has a point actually

that Korea does this, immediately, in the face of actual soldiers trying to impose martial law - when members of our own congress voted for a coup hours after the J6 mob stormed congress, and the coup instigator won the next election - is about as scathing an indictment of America as I’ve ever seen

1) South Korean President declares martial law to try and go around parliament. Protests in the streets begin. 2) Parliament convenes and unanimously votes to negate the decree. 3) Soldiers withdraw and celebrations in the streets replace protests. All in a matter of hours.
