My Japanese lessons are coming to an end soon. I've been so happy learning a new language, and I'm going to have to self-teach myself until early next year when I can take them again. I still have a long way to go, but I'm really happy I can read some basic stuff now! (Not near kanji yet though)

I never used Duolingo, so I agree on the sentiment it's more of a gimmick and a game and not a useful way to learn. I want to advocate for taking lessons at a community centre, or if you have a school in your area for the language you want to learn, doing that instead! You'll learn much more!

the really important thing about resisting automatically generated stat sheets that services give you is that numbers mean nothing without ~why~. exercise learning to talk about music & why you like it, not just "because i listened to it a lot" or "it's peak". these are skills you can develop!!
