No matter how much I eat or drink, I always lose weight in Europe! I went super hard this trip and down 4 lbs. 😅 I also don’t eat a ton of processed food (by comparison to average) and walk/bike/transit almost everywhere so the usual “processed food and walking” answer doesn’t make sense.

Things have changed so quickly in the last few years with regard to European travel. Electronic passport gates with short lines and no need to talk to an officer. Two weeks and haven’t needed to go to an ATM once. Tap to pay for everything. So easy!

Transit feels a bit pricey but I assume the price are programs to help folks who are lower income/younger etc like there are in San Francisco. I also think the bike infrastructure needs some work but it’s harder in older cities.

This. We have a car (electric) for a variety of commute/Bay Area lifestyle reasons, but our “second” transit mode is my e-bike/e-bike share. By far, the fastest and easiest way of getting many places in San Francisco.
