When it comes to critical infrastructure, we acknowledge there are risks, and implement redundancies. There are people whose entire jobs centre around the fact that things might break. We are not currently seeing the same focus on redundancy wrt critical skill retention.

I wrote my first short story on an Amstrad PCW, pretty sure it was 8256. My mum bought it to do her masters, and all of my mates had consoles. I didn't, so while they played games, I wrote a horror story about sentient snake monsters taking over a zoo.
