i’ve been deep diving into the study of gentleness recently. and it’s been really re-enlightening. it’s something i feel i’ve lost—be it by the hands of society or the ones in my life who were supposed to be safe spaces for it. but i feel really hopeful i’ll get that sense of self back. i have to.

my body has interesting ways of adapting. my weight distribution fluctuates more dramatically day-to-day than most. one day i’m all swole(ish), the next day, smol(ish). it’s not dysmorphia either. my pcp years ago made note. also, i’ve been gathering empirical evidence of this for like 4 years now 😅

functional depression been getting the best of me lately and my best friend has been unknowingly been coming to my rescue. i have deep appreciation for ones that embrace me when i’m not at my best bc i’m used to isolating myself, as people don’t have the capacity or capability to care for my stuff.

just came from a jam session and had the best time in LA in a really long time. i am on a high rn. it was so nice being surrounded creatives letting loose and creating magic on a whim. it reminded me of a pre-pandemic time. so beautiful. i hadn't sung in public for an audience for a long time.
