Minnie Riperton’s ‘Come To My Garden’ is my favorite album of all time. It’s such a well-orchestrated record that wasn’t appreciated during its time when it was released in 1970. I can’t get enough of Minnie’s vocals and the songs that make me feel so in love.

It’s safe to say that A Seat at the Table’s message still resonates with the functionality of blackness til this day. I can’t express to you how many times I played that record whenever my blackness was tired with the numerous of anger I carried through my soul while protesting all of those years.

One of my favorite performances was watching this performance of Rise/Weary live during Jimmy Kimmel. Her art direction to her set design really impressed me and moved me in ways I couldn’t imagine. I was so proud and I am so glad I saw her perform during this era. 🥹

A lot of fans don’t talk about this enough but Hadley St. Dreams had a lot of promises that never got fulfilled. For example, Would’ve Been The One was supposed to have been the 4th and final single, the album was suppose to have an EP deluxe, a full world tour, etc.

Kinda. 🥴 Stillness Is The Move was originally part of Hadley’s followed up EP that discontinued its release due to Solange pulling out of Geffen and was released as a standalone single in 2009, even though it was supposed to be part of her unreleased mixtape. It’s technically an unreleased track.
