When I saw people talking about Proton during the early days of this discussion I had to go look up the full story of what happened with him and mostly just came away confused

(well maybe it costs something but it seems to be part of what we’re already paying for various bundled iCloud features)

yeah, since it doesn’t cost anything I’m considering using it solely for shared passwords with family and then paying for something (gonna try Proton next, I guess, despite the CEO being a mid-tier weirdo) for all my complicated crap

if they ever did, it’d likely be a rewrite of the browser extension to have its own icloud sync core instead of the windows icloud app it currently relies on, which would mean browser autofill only.

I switched to Apple Passwords for family sharing reasons and am glad to get it for free but it’s pretty lacking feature wise. No SSH keys, no passkey support on Windows, the Windows client is VERY slow, no sort by on the MFA screen, no “favorites” list
