In the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory novel, Charlie's dad has an arc where he loses his job at the toothpaste factory to a toothpaste cap screwing machine and then ends the book as the toothpaste cap screwing machine repairman. This is an incredibly realistic depiction of automating the workflow
