UNIT: Brave New World: Knightfall came out back in March AND I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO TELL ANYONE ABOUT IT! I was the sound designer on Episode 2 Storm Over Albion, and Episode 3 Shining Armour. This was the most action-heavy project I've ever worked on and I learned so much!

"One of you is a Hard-boiled Detective, the other is an Aristocratic Killer. You’ve been chasing each other for a while, but no one’s gotten caught. You think you know everything about him. It’s starting to become an obsession. He will be yours.

Before you get started
This is a game about two people in an adversarial relationship, unsure if they want to kill each other or fuck each other. Physical confrontation is something they both want, but will never admit to (such an intolerable display of earnestness!). This kind of dynamic (often described as ‘Consensual non-consent’ in fiction writing) is, of course, a terrible kind of relationship to have in real life. Please do not fuck a detective to avoid being arrested.

During play, it’s strongly advised to use an RPG safety tool of your choice as a way of formally checking in on your fellow player. There are also points during the flow of play where players are encouraged to discuss and adjust what their characters aim to do to each other before you roll dice about it.

Either way, it’s worth discussing the following before starting:
How much do we see of The Killer’s murders?
How much is The Detective operating within the law?
Does The Detective fight or hurt people who aren’t The Killer?"

"The Interrogation
The police, as ever, have been left clueless. It’s the end of a long night of witness interviews, and the Killer prepares themselves for the closing act of their performance before they step into the morning air a free man.
How does The Killer plan to conceal their guilt? Who else is being interrogated?
This isn’t the Detective’s case, and yet he’s here. How does he make an opportunity to speak to the Killer directly?
When someone is on the brink of losing their patience, roll.

The Socialite Ball
A luxury gala with all the who’s-who of the city is in full swing. The main hall is scattered with paparazzi and overly chatty celebrities, but the venue has a number of back rooms for more private conversations.
The Detective has snuck in following an unrelated case, who are they tailing?
The Killer has been dragged here in an obligation to someone else, why couldn’t they say no?
When the Killer and Detective meet, and their animosity threatens to draw attention, roll.

The Getaway
The Killer is putting the final touches on their latest work. Everything’s been precisely arranged to leave whoever discovers it in awe and confusion. However, the Detective’s investigation and instincts have him rapidly closing in. They both think of the other’s expression and smile.
The Killer’s work takes a while to do correctly. Where is the murder being done, and what’s taking so long to finish?
The Detective’s tracking of the Killer was suspiciously easy this time. What clue or calling card did he leave behind?
Just before the Detective sees the Killer leave the crime scene, roll."
