He can't lie his way out of this one.
Screenshot of a tweet by Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) showing an exchange where a reporter asks Trump how much longer Americans will face high gas prices, Trump responds they're "not very high," is told prices are still $4 a gallon, and replies that's what ABC says but "the stock market is up" and "everything is doing really well." The embedded video shows Trump speaking on the White House lawn, with a breaking news chyron reading "Trump: Iran Cannot Have Nuclear Weapon."

Hegseth said US military should refuse ‘unlawful’ Trump orders in unearthed 2016 interview
Defense secretary’s comments recirculating amid dispute over US strikes on alleged drug boats in Caribbean The US defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, stated repeatedly in 2016 on Fox News that US service members should refuse “unlawful” orders from a potential president Trump – exactly the position he called “despicable” when Democratic lawmakers said it last month. The debate about whether US soldiers should refuse illegal orders is now at the center of a fiery political dispute over the US killings of alleged drug traffickers in boats off the coast of Venezuela and Columbia. Trump keeps stomping on consumers and raising prices. Overdraft fees were about to be limited to $5. He stopped that. Credit card late fees were to be capped at $8. But Trump made sure consumers would continue to pay $32 or more. High costs a problem? Not if you’re a billionaire.
