The only good news of the week: my copy of the Heritage zine got to meeee! thank you wonderful artists y'all really are so talented. and thank you @adelie-gir.bsky.social for putting this together

Right!! She became so one-note, all we know about her is the incest and that she sometimes fucks off for months or years. It shouldn't be difficult to give her some more character traits, or show us more about her life in Auvergne, her relationship with her husband and motherhood. and yet 😔

Nico 🌱 [iwtv spoilers!] @lyrasring.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

Real, they bit off more than they could or would chew. It's such a dense story already, there's not enough time in 7 eps to give enough space to everything. And she was one of my favourite characters as well in the book, sigh

Nico 🌱 [iwtv spoilers!] @lyrasring.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

By the time Louis found out i was almost thinking, haven't we been over this already? I felt bad bc the story deserved much more thought and different reactions (which could also have helped the plot move along), like you said. But you can only elicit shock that many times before it gets irrelevant

020

Nico 🌱 [iwtv spoilers!] @lyrasring.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

It ties back to the issue of telling over showing as well, it makes the same reveal's script feel extremely linear.

120

Nico 🌱 [iwtv spoilers!] @lyrasring.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

Comparing this with the Rashid-is-Armand reveal in s1, that one worked better, to me, because we figure it out alongside Daniel, and most crucially we're only told explicitly ONCE.

050

Nico 🌱 [iwtv spoilers!] @lyrasring.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

Anyone who read the books already knows who Gabrielle is, and non book fans have figured it out already, multiple times, by the end. There was no need to hold the viewer's hand through this imo. Shocking, we get it. Go deeper! Either that, or don't put that much focus on it at all. ->

Nico 🌱 [iwtv spoilers!] @lyrasring.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

If we are to see Lestat realise that he was subjected to abuse at the end of the season and curse his abuser, why not show us some of his inner thoughts and him dealing with the undoubtedly conflicted feelings leading up to that moment? It would have made the moment feel way more earned for me. ->

130

Nico 🌱 [iwtv spoilers!] @lyrasring.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

Could we maybe spend some of that time reflecting on how that relationship shaped Lestat and the cycles of abuse instead of focusing on the surface shocking nature of it all? ->

130

Nico 🌱 [iwtv spoilers!] @lyrasring.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

#tvlspoilers We are told about the nature of Lestat's and Gabrielle's relationship not two, not three but FOUR times: -by Lestat's VO to the audience ("it's different for vampires") -when Daniel figures it out -by Louis, abundantly, to Lestat -by Armand on screen I think we get it. We get it. ->

If i had a nickel for every time a good show i really liked fell off in one of its later seasons enough for me to dread having to watch the finale I'd have quite a few nickels, but the last two nickels would be particularly shiny and egregious

Here's your death, Lestat 🥀🖤 I'm sure this has been done already but I needed to get it out of my system ( #IWTV #InterviewWithTheVampire #fanart #AMCIWTV #LouisDePointeDuLac #Armand #LestatDeLioncourt #VampireChronicles )

Fanart of Interview With the Vampire where Louis is kissing Armand while stabbing Lestat in the heart, on top of a dark background covered in blood and surrounded with a golden frame with withered roses on it. On top of it, a golden text that says "Here's your death, Lestat"

🇩🇰 Denmark folks! You can sign a petition to put a stop to this too. It's a HUGE deal because it was the Danish presidency of the EU Council who pushed this to begin with. If it reaches 50k (2.5k away!) it'll automatically go to the Danish Parliament for debate. www.borgerforslag.dk/se-og-stoet-...
