What if, I know this will be shocking, parents had a say in what books their kids read, and let other parents decide what books their kids can read? Wild, right?

The idea that anyone much less Trump is gonna build the next TAPS for LNG soon & that it will be profitable & reduce energy dependence/make jobs is a secular article of faith akin to belief in the afterlife: it's prob wrong & the stakes of finding out are high but people self-soothe by believing it.

This week, Alaskans statewide started receiving their PFD checks. But with DC price hikes and the war in Iran driving costs through the roof, this year's check won't go as far as it used to. It's time for a leader who treats our affordability crisis like the emergency it is.

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:
Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."
