These days, I'm not a terribly quiet person. I'm relatively assertive regularly. But today, I spent time with someone significantly louder. Let me tell you, it was quite affirming to finally feel smarter than someone who thinks they are more intelligent than me.

“Can it be a short surgery?” “Yes, overnight.” Believe it or not, this is a typical conversation with my four-year-old. She keeps ripping dolls and breaking toys. Each time, they go get “surgery” at night. Guess who the toy surgeon is? The same mom who excels at sort of ok sewing and hot glue.

They say time heals pain, but I miss my friend more today than when she passed in May. It’s about to be spooky season, and that was something she loved. She would’ve been first in line to see Practical Magic 2. I wouldn’t typically go to see it, but I might now, just because she would have.

It’s a small accomplishment, but as I said in a previous post, I’ve been making small modifications to clothes I would like to change. For this dress, I changed the cut by changing the chest area into straps using belt fabric and sewing the center shut for a less flowy appeal. Anyway, I like it!
