A long history of unpaid bills, bounced checks, four mortgage defaults, getting both her business and herself repeatedly sued, and not showing up for court dates. Also, she touts her financial experience as why she should be governor. She didn't respond to requests for comment.

We spent about a week in Atacama last winter while n South America. The driest non-polar desert on earth. The Super El Niño has brought record rainfall, and the desert is blooming. A rare occurrence. It was nothing but brown when we were there. Beautiful as only deserts can be, but not like this.

“Expecting compassion and apologies for wrongdoing isn’t naive; it’s the foundation of every ethical system on earth. It defines who we are, it builds trust, and it differentiates the Democratic Party from the cruelty of MAGA. It’s how we demonstrate that we deserve to win.” - Matt Schultz

Commentary: Peltola's words create a teachable moment, but an apology is required. | Alaska Beacon
We can show Alaska and the nation that apologies are a sign of wisdom and strength, that choosing words of compassion matters, and that people of good character can win elections.

Stopped at the clinic for a blood draw for my annual physical. In the week since I saw the P.A. they’ve posted a sign saying verbal and physical abuse will not be tolerated. The tech told me they’ve had incidents. What is wrong with people?

On rare occasions I miss Facebook, especially the Goldstream Community page when we get snow. How are the roads? Answers: No problem. Fine, just drive slow. Terrible. Stay home. If you can’t handle it you don’t belong in Alaska. First snowfall of the year. I’m about to drive the roads.

“Have you actually listened to Aerosmith? No music this terrible should fuel any debate on art, ethics, or cancel culture — shitty is just shitty; turn that shit off.” [Dirty secret: I like Aerosmith. Judge me as you wish, but it’s embedded in cloudy early 80s teenage memories of beers and bongs.]

That time I was playing Bollywood music on KUAC and an intoxicated woman called and asked for Roadhouse Blues by the Doors and began drunkenly singing it then said "Quit playing this Japanese shit!" I said I'd look for it and hung up. "Sorry lady. You insult my Hindi pop you don't get your request."

One of my longstanding criticisms of the Amish is that they aren’t truly opposed to modern technology. They pick and choose what they will embrace. No on vaccines, yes on hospitalizing their children. Hypocrisy. They’re overwhelming the system and draining limited resources. This impacts everyone.

Irish night. Lamb stew, soda bread (didn’t have whole wheat flour on hand so I had to make do with white), salad, and a glass of Guinness. The only thing missing was a handful of trad musicians and the chattery background din of a darkened pub. We greatly enjoyed Ireland.

This is a facebook post from Danielle Gammon. She reports her daughter Alice is missing. That she had breakfast at Tanana Middle School and then apparently left. Alice is 12, about 5'2" and 100 lbs. she was wearing a light blue hoodie and light pink glasses that look almost clear. They have filed a police report and checked at both youth shelters.
