October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month. ~1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss (~1 in 2 if you're in your 40s). US infant mortality is around ~5.3-5.6 per 1000 live births. Miss you forever Benji.

If someone is seriously considering suicide, it is unlikely you will know. If anything, they might be a bit more upbeat than they have been because they feel the weight lifted off their shoulders by having a concrete plan. They won't come to you first. Be there for your friends and family.

I guess this is one place to build a nest. (Yes yes I know it was probably moved there, but that's less funny)

#OnThisDay in 1977, NASA launched the Voyager 1 probe to study the outer solar system. It's still transmitting data, and at over 15.9 billion miles away is the most distant man-made object. In 1990, Voyager 1 took the famous 'Pale Blue Dot' image, showing Earth from over 6 billion kilometres away.
The image depicts the Voyager 1 spacecraft in space, set against a backdrop of stars and nebulous, blue cosmic clouds.A photograph of space showing scattered light beams with a small, pale dot known as Earth. This image is famously known as the "Pale Blue Dot," captured by the Voyager 1 spacecraft.

A charming black-and-white photograph of computer science pioneer Frances E. Allen (1932–2020). She is looking slightly off-camera to the right with a vibrant, joyful smile that wrinkles the corners of her eyes behind her rimless eyeglasses. She has short, wavy, light-colored hair styled in a soft crop. She wears a dark, high-necked turtleneck top or sweater and a delicate, dark drop earrings. A hint of a metallic chain necklace is visible. The soft-focus background is muted and non-distinct, emphasizing her warm expression. The lighting gently illuminates her face, highlighting her cheerful, approachable mood. Frances Allen is historically significant as a pioneer in optimizing compilers, the first female IBM Fellow, and the first woman to win the ACM Turing Award.

A promotional graphic with a deep purple background, inviting viewers to "Connect with us on" a platform symbolized by a large stylized letter "W."

The "W" has a 3D effect, with the left half in white and the right half in a light mint green. Five large, yellow five-pointed stars curve along the top, right, and bottom edges, reminiscent of the European Union flag. In the bottom right corner, there is a small, white institutional logo representing the European Commission.
