This S.O.B. I got this letter & "refund" check yesterday, & this doesn't even cover one month of increases to my health insurance premiums since Trump & his sycophantic GOP passed his big ugly bill & took away Obamacare subsidies. I'm lucky that I could keep my insurance but many could not.

$500 check with letter that reads: For years, the Biden Administration overcharged you to fund the operation of HealthCare.gov. That money belongs to hard-working Americans, not the Government, and now, I am returning it to you!
With this Historic Action, my Administration is taking the surplus funds that accumulated from the Obamacare
"Premium Tax" and issuing a one-time $500 REFUND to Americans who use the HealthCare.gov platform to purchase their health insurance, but who do not receive Taxpayer Subsidies to help pay for their Coverage. You have paid into this flawed System, and now you are finally getting something back.
Healthcare Dollars should benefit Patients, not Insurance Companies or Government Bureaucrats. Since returning to office, I have fought to lower Healthcare Costs, increase Accountability, and Put Patients First.

When I hear our side hosting hissy fits between James Carville and Hasan Piker – largely to benefit their own engagement and wallets – I get rather testy. Neither of these men own the Big Tent that we’re trying to invite voters into, and I really want to remind them that: It’s the voter suppression, stupid. Looking back at the actual data on elections since we lost the full protection of the Voting Rights Act, it becomes evident that this has damaged Democratic chances more than any other obstacle we’re facing. Until we can do the work of restoring and expanding voting rights, we’ve got to do far more work on mobilizing those who can vote. And that requires all of our leaders to avoid some of these “own goals” of depressing turnout through cynicism and division.

To name some: I’m sure Let Us Play is available in the library; I volunteered for a candidate in a congressional race who was endorsed by every major LGBTQ group in the district & offered not just to walk with a Victory Fund endorsed candidate in the July 4th parade, but to recruit other volunteers.

I made a pledge at the beginning of Pride month to take at least one action each day. I made some donations – like a large one to an LGBTQ candidate in my state. The day I joined the Ilya Rozanov birthday celebration with an $81 donation to GLAAD I saw a few folks say they couldn’t afford donations…

As Pride closes & we’re slammed with an awful SCOTUS ruling on trans kids in sports, I recommend Let Us Play by Harrison Browne & Rachel Browne. It truly makes the case that Trans Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Trans Rights & goes into how trans issues are economic & intersectional.
