Hope you have a brilliant time too!

Imagine if I remembered to attach my picture...

Pretty happy with our seats for the Undertale World Tour (The Determination Symphony) show in London tonight! Hope everyone enjoys the show, lots of great people here 💕

Did reasonably well in the London Animate pop-up store's Helluva Boss campaign! (Thanks to @rallyiv.bsky.social for a few strategic swaps.)

Helluva Boss items on a white table. Three promotional art cards of Fizzarolli, Ozzie and Verosika from the Animate pop-up store campaign, together with my purchased merchandise: three badges (Fizzarolli, Ozzie, Blitzø), a Fizzarolli sticker and acrylic block, and a transparent card of Striker which nobody wanted. I traded a Stolas card for the Ozzie badge, and a Millie badge for Fizz. I also traded my Octavia card for Ozzie.

I love him more every time he says something 🙃

I only just started playing OVER REQUIEMZ and I already love Dorothy. He has such weird energy. Why does he keep smiling like that?

A screenshot from the game OVER REQUIEMZ showing the character Dorothy, a witch with long, peach coloured hair, heavy lidded eyes and a suspicious smile. He is wearing burgundy and white robes and asking how the protagonist feels after the events at the start of the game.

I considered doing another for the shows which convinced me to keep watching but it would have been very biased towards the handful of shows out back then. "Most formative" seems like a valid limiter.

000

Whoever designed the pop-up selection screen on this disc made me laugh.

A screenshot of a screen which pops up before the menu on the Blu-ray disc edition of an adult net anime (XL上司。, if you're wondering), which gives the user two options before viewing the show. The 'on air edition' (censored) just shows the main character smiling normally. The 'uncensored' version, however, shows the male lead nakedly brandishing a banana. It's clean but suggestive.

And basic again with the 9 games which shaped me, though I let some more recent titles slip in where they made an impact. Diabolik Lovers is standing in for the VNs which most shaped me which weren't in the list (they're adult). RotOD stands in for countless unlisted childhood games with that vibe.

A 3x3 grid of games showing Knights of the Round, Street Fighter II, Final Fantasy VI, Tekken 2, Sengoku BASARA (3, though 2 Heroes was probably better), Danganronpa 2, Diabolik Lovers Haunted Dark Bridal, UNDERTALE and Return of the Obra Dinn.

Again, I'm fairly basic with the 9 manga which shaped me!

A 3x3 grid with manga covers: Ranma 1/2, Black Butler, Blade of the Immortal, NANA, Monster, Hana Yori Dango, Otomen, I"s and They Were Eleven

My 9 Animes (trying not to wince at that pluralisation)! Very basic but these I enjoyed primarily in anime form and influenced me in various ways. Was tempted to add Ixion Saga DT but who I am was already shaped by that point. Gonna do the game/manga versions too... my9animes.com/en

A 3x3 grid showing the anime selected by the viewer: Revolutionary Girl Utena, Sailor Moon (specifically Sailor Moon S), The Slayers (specifically NEXT), Urusei Yatsura, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sorcerer Hunters, Fushigi Yuugi, The Twelve Kingdoms and Sengoku BASARA.

Luka and Hyuna finally have a version of Cure to destroy me with. Excellent start to the day.

Also, somehow I never knew that Yonezu Kenshi was HachiP until today. Nor that Shibasaki Kou sung Genomichronicle (I always thought it was a Vocaloid song, which makes sense given the writers).

I've sat through quite a few disappointing voice actor interviews lately which don't actually say anything meaningful; even though promotional interviews always skew positive (obviously) it's nice to get genuine insight into the recording process and how actors connect to their characters.

Watching today's State of Play stream feating Ghost of Yōtei, which I have no interest in playing due to its genre. However, it's really nice to hear seiyuu Fairouz Ai chatting with Kaji Yuki about voicing the lead based on Erika Ishii's performance and praising them. A surprisingly good interview!

I think it feels more real and raw because they're so adorable? The way they often curl up like dead insects when they fall is also extremely cute.

I'm usually so hard to please with comedy, until I watch a supercut of the robots from the recent World Humanoid Robot Games falling over repeatedly and can't help shedding tears with laughter. They're so adorable!

I am helpless in the face of Robin's cuteness. Farewell, my Jiaoqiu fund.

A screenshot from the game Honkai: Star Rail showing that the user successfully obtained the character Robin 'Summeretto', i.e. Robin in a bikini with cute bird mascots. The image is summery and a mix of blues, pinks, purples and yellows with Robin frolicking in the centre.

A screenshot from the game Honkai: Star Rail showing that the user also successfully obtained the character Yanqing again, thus receiving his Eidolon to power him up. This is the user's fifth Yanqing. The image shows Yanqing surrounded by clouds and blue swords as he surfs on a blade.

It was also hilarious how the guys' clothes kept getting torn to shreds. Actually aspirational main characters like Aang are rare and really special, I think he made the original series for me.

Finally got around to watching Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender on Paramount+ while I'm subscribed. It was nice to return to the old series and I didn't even notice the cast had changed until the credits (oops). The art style looked great and I'm glad they filled in some of the time before Korra.

I'm not Black but as an autistic person (and human being) I was horrified at how the story blew up with such naked cruelty. Pieces like yours helped me to navigate the horrendous media feeding frenzy and to educate myself better. Your viewpoint was and is important. And we must all do better.

Whilst I accept what you are saying, having a voice like yours speaking out on the broader problems of society is invaluable. Especially given the other coverage. Black people are held to impossible standards of perfection; it's cruel. Please speak to your loved ones and take care of yourself too.

National mobile phone alerts are still working, it seems. I'm certain that everyone will heed the warning not to use hot things and be socially responsible.

For me personally, ugliness is more than visual appeal. AI slop will always look 'ugly' to me irrespective of its aesthetic accomplishment; the price paid to create it inherently strips it of beauty. It may be because I'm not from the US but the secondary definition of 'morally repugnant' seems apt.

and for too many people those things matter less than showing off another AI abomination. This is probably a me problem but I've had far more success making people feel too bad about showing me their slop by shaming them than by appealing to what is, to them, an abstract problem of morality 😭.

I think the point is valid/important, but as someone who doesn't eat meat I have a lifetime of experiencing people who don't like the idea of someone else believing that the thing they enjoy is causing harm. The ethical argument only works if the other person cares about artists and/or the planet,
