Do you have a player who always brings the same character vibe to every campaign? #ttrpg #dnd #rpg #meme #ttrpgsky #ttrpgcommunity

Image meme. Text reads: 'That one player who keeps playing the same exact character no matter what style campaign you are in...' Below are multiple images of the bear character Baloo from various Disney movies. Examples include Baloo dressed as Little John from Robin Hood, as a pilot from TaleSpin, and as himself from The Jungle Book.

Never seen that before, paper cones rather than cups at a water cooler to prevent people from setting them down.

There IS a deeper reason and it has nothing to do with "cultural cachet." It is the same reason Weird Al Yankovic has given for no longer focusing on releasing parody singles: The collapse of monoculture. Charts *don't mean much anymore* www.youtube.com/shorts/-9rAO...

This kind of take made a Rolling Stone writer so mad they wrote a whole piece about it.

At this point, though, if someone contends they've never even heard of
"Choosin' Texas" or Langley, it may say more about the listener than the song.
Or, for that matter, what they want to project to the world. With incessant news coverage alongside chart and playlist presence, it's pretty difficult to still claim total ignorance on this one.
Perhaps there is a deeper reason why people say they haven't heard the song and feel the need to make it known: cultural cachet.

Did reasonably well in the London Animate pop-up store's Helluva Boss campaign! (Thanks to @rallyiv.bsky.social for a few strategic swaps.)

Helluva Boss items on a white table. Three promotional art cards of Fizzarolli, Ozzie and Verosika from the Animate pop-up store campaign, together with my purchased merchandise: three badges (Fizzarolli, Ozzie, Blitzø), a Fizzarolli sticker and acrylic block, and a transparent card of Striker which nobody wanted. I traded a Stolas card for the Ozzie badge, and a Millie badge for Fizz. I also traded my Octavia card for Ozzie.

I only just started playing OVER REQUIEMZ and I already love Dorothy. He has such weird energy. Why does he keep smiling like that?

A screenshot from the game OVER REQUIEMZ showing the character Dorothy, a witch with long, peach coloured hair, heavy lidded eyes and a suspicious smile. He is wearing burgundy and white robes and asking how the protagonist feels after the events at the start of the game.

Whoever designed the pop-up selection screen on this disc made me laugh.

A screenshot of a screen which pops up before the menu on the Blu-ray disc edition of an adult net anime (XL上司。, if you're wondering), which gives the user two options before viewing the show. The 'on air edition' (censored) just shows the main character smiling normally. The 'uncensored' version, however, shows the male lead nakedly brandishing a banana. It's clean but suggestive.

My 9 Animes (trying not to wince at that pluralisation)! Very basic but these I enjoyed primarily in anime form and influenced me in various ways. Was tempted to add Ixion Saga DT but who I am was already shaped by that point. Gonna do the game/manga versions too... my9animes.com/en

A 3x3 grid showing the anime selected by the viewer: Revolutionary Girl Utena, Sailor Moon (specifically Sailor Moon S), The Slayers (specifically NEXT), Urusei Yatsura, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sorcerer Hunters, Fushigi Yuugi, The Twelve Kingdoms and Sengoku BASARA.

Also, somehow I never knew that Yonezu Kenshi was HachiP until today. Nor that Shibasaki Kou sung Genomichronicle (I always thought it was a Vocaloid song, which makes sense given the writers).

Watching today's State of Play stream feating Ghost of Yōtei, which I have no interest in playing due to its genre. However, it's really nice to hear seiyuu Fairouz Ai chatting with Kaji Yuki about voicing the lead based on Erika Ishii's performance and praising them. A surprisingly good interview!

I am helpless in the face of Robin's cuteness. Farewell, my Jiaoqiu fund.

A screenshot from the game Honkai: Star Rail showing that the user successfully obtained the character Robin 'Summeretto', i.e. Robin in a bikini with cute bird mascots. The image is summery and a mix of blues, pinks, purples and yellows with Robin frolicking in the centre.

A screenshot from the game Honkai: Star Rail showing that the user also successfully obtained the character Yanqing again, thus receiving his Eidolon to power him up. This is the user's fifth Yanqing. The image shows Yanqing surrounded by clouds and blue swords as he surfs on a blade.

What the heck has happened to eBay? The front page is just a sea of hideous genAI slop posters which all look the same as one another despite not being, thanks to their generators' collective lack of taste. I have tagged this post as containing disturbing content for the sake of my followers' eyes.

The five top tiles under the 'eBay Live' section of the eBay website, captured today. Every single image is an AI fabrication with the garish text (always jauntily angled in the same way) and shiny, fake-looking generated illustrations typical of the style. Even though every image is superficially different in colour and content they all look exactly the same due to the templated, derivative AI slop style that people with no sense of aesthetics believe looks good (and low-effort).

One of the best parts about being an adult is that nobody can tell you off for covering your brand new robot vacuum cleaner with silly DELTARUNE stickers. Its name is Queen, by the way.

A white Roborock robot vacuum cleaner with its top surface liberally covered in stickers of Toby Fox and characters/references from the DELTARUNE series of games. There are more than two dozen stickers in total from a variety of fan and convention artists. The cleaner is resting on a wooden table with an empty glass visible in the frame.
