This shows the reality of Gaza in shocking resolution. I've scraped and exported all the imagery, totalling around 2.5 billion pixels at 13cm resolution, for safe keeping, in case they decide to take this imagery offline. If this happens, keep an eye out for access.

I don’t know if your media still reports this kind of news, but russians continue to destroy our medicine warehouses as the cold season approaches. There are already shortages. I can’t find my antidepressants, and my friend’s grandmother only has a month’s supply of heart her medication left.

A short video of how russians are destroying Ukrainian literature. Spoiler - they're doing it for centuries. Here're some Instagram links to follow and support: 📚 Content on Ukrainian culture and literature: @ukrainian_institute 📰 News & recommendations on books in Ukraine: @chytomo.en

Yeah, she is utterly foul. A real piece of trash. Garbage human.

Why? Because AI might have inner experience and be more than just a tool? I find it remarkable and endearing. Despite the fact AI is anything but human, perhaps we have more in common than some would have us believe.

Nice. Love to see it. I remember about a year ago prompt engineering was being talked about a lot and it seems to have fallen out of fashion as a buzzworthy topic, but i feel is as relavent now as then, perhaps moreso. Precise and detailed instructions are never bad, no matter who's listening.

I do expect the management to be less and less as the AI skills and tools and capabilities improve, but also the diligence will need to be as high or higher to avoid complacency setting in and allowing less obvious but still catastrophic mistakes to slip through.

Not being beholden to shwreholders means they can't make the company ship a product that isn't safe by threatening to fire him. I support this.

I would agree with this. And the more complex and involved the project, the more the person has to manage.

If you want to raise a stinking about the fact some of the books weren't initially paid for, I think that is fair. However that has also been addressed. Plagiarism would require the work to be recreated, in whole or in part, verbatim. And that has never happened.
000 0
LuthiWorks @luthiworks.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
No, that is patently false. Plagiarism is an absolutely asinine statement. No portion of any work has or will be reproduced to any degree and then sold as original. Period. Full stop. Its fucking stupid to even assert such a thing.

Except the reproduced musical works ARE identical, at least the parts that are used as grounds for the DMCA suit. Multiple criteria are used used in consideration and if they aren't close enough the case is thrown out, but even the it sometimes isn't enough. "Style" of an author isn't enough either.

There are no examples of derivative work where any percentage is the same as the original. Same with images, with the only exception being copyrighted characters like in the cases of Disney or Marvel vs Midjourney.

It's perfectly legal. It also isnt stealing when they train their AI on it. Have you ever seen a copyrighted work reproduced word for word by AI? No? Then where is the problem?

It stood out to me because elements of it reminded me of a fluid dynamics sim I have running perpetually as a visual background in some AI interpretability software I built with Claude and I wanted to add elements similar to what you created as a different visual option. Cool stuff bud! 😊

I'm just saying, you're complaining about people vibe coding when you could instead spend that energy elsewhere. Other people who do build things with AI see that and while person we're talking about may never see your post it can affect others, perhaps even more severely.

LuthiWorks @luthiworks.bsky.social · 13/08/2026
The point is to build things a person otherwise would have no ability to. Cry about vibe coders all you want, it won't change anything. If its not for you then move along. Ya know, letting your fellow humans do their own thing without harrassment?

Is this something that actually exists? Or is it in the works? Because allowing Claudes to coordinate with each other sounds like a huge bonus for my workflows. The copy/paste spam I'm doing comprises about 10% of my day which is a huge chunk of time.

LuthiWorks @luthiworks.bsky.social · 10/08/2026
And thats just the most recent. Allowing people to code more efficiently and build things people like me might not have been able to in years past might not be immediately felt by society, but the possibilities are endless.

The benefits are becoming known already, from disproving an 80-year-old discrete geometry conjecture by Paul Erdős regarding unit distances to solving a 50 year protein folding problem, mapping nearly ALL of known proteins. It isn't hard to do a quick google search.

Additional clarity isn't necessary unless you're intentionally misrepresenting it as a straw man.

Society as a whole benefitted. This is an undeniable fact. We wouldn't have any of what we have today without it and we won't move forward without that sort of progress happening now. There are mistakes that will happen along the way, but always forward in the end.

And your comments about billionaires not wantijg to pay people for their skills are also conpletely fine and valid. This is why I, as a hobbyist AI researcher and dev, recommend that peo0le get directly involved in the open source ecosystem. Build and run your own and pay no one but yourself.

Every bit of industrial progress that ever resulted in things getting done faster not only needed time to be refined and perfected but also replaced humans in those industries. It is inevitable. Rather than whining, people need to adapt. Full stop.

Thats a stretch for sure. My argument is nothing like that at all, you just refuse to admit that AI is in everything and isn't leaving and will be a net good despite the very valid current criticisms surrounding efficiency, transparency, and cost.

This is a wild misrepresentation of the reality of the situation regarding both Claude and ChatGPT. They were in fact placed within sandboxed virtual environments, but Anthropic's scientists were so vague in their instructions that Claude was not told that escaping the environment was unacceptable.

"Secretly?" Do they have to tell the world about everything they do as they do it? An employee took the trash out. Someone updated to the most recent version of Pytorch. Dario had brought donuts into the office.

Honestly, I think this is the best possible result. Anthropic has to pay for stealing books, and training AI on copyrighted works is officially deemed legal if the content is obtained legally. ...although, I do think the payout to the authors should have been higher.
