Thames Water, I refuse to pay the sewage charge in my bill while you pollute Britain’s rivers and coastlines | Jenny Jones
I will calmly read all the threatening letters and await the court case against me. But I will take a stand even if our government won’t, says Jenny Jones, a Green party peer

Serbia’s Justice Minister announces that genocidaire Ratko Mladic will be buried in the country with the highest state honors. It’s good that the Serbian government is doing this, so everyone can finally see the true, monstrous face of the Vucic regime. No illusions. www.klix.ba/vijesti/bih/...

CCS has been tried and has failed, it's a con. We have to commit to replacing fossil fuels everywhere in the electricity and terrestrial transport sectors as a first step. Replace your hob, replace your boiler, accept the higher immediate costs for the long term benefits. I'll do what I can.

Despite all the noise today I'd really like you to read this, as I think it's crucial. The government's in the process of p*ssing up to £264 billion into the ground, at the behest of the fossil fuel industry. Yes, £264 *billion*. It's utterly mad, and has to stop. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The great carbon capture con: behold the wasted billions Burnham could claw back | George Monbiot
There are far better ways to tackle climate breakdown, but successive governments have chosen to listen to the fossil fuel companies instead, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Hey so, if you use Waymo driverless car services, you are aiding and abetting fascism. Waymo helps ICE agents locate people to terrorize and abduct. The company willingly shares all facial recognition, license plate and GPS data with ICE and other law enforcement agencies—no subpoena required.

The Government must block Nigel Farage’s resignation until the Standards Commissioner finishes investigating him. The people of Clacton deserve the full facts. If a by-election does go ahead, all parties should stand aside. We cannot give oxygen to this vanity project.

At least one person has managed to make a fortune from the chaos of the Brexit deal. £5m for Nigel Farage. A £90bn hit to the rest of us.

because I know y’all can’t click and read
1. "Except in rare circumstances, drowning people are physiologically unable to call out for help. The respiratory system was designed for breathing.
Speech is the secondary or overlaid function.
Breathing must be fulfilled before speech occurs.
2. Drowning people's mouths alternately sink below and reappear above the surface of the water. The mouths of drowning people are not above the surface of the water long enough for them to exhale, inhale, and call out for help. When the drowning people's mouths are above the surface, they exhale and inhale quickly as their mouths start to sink below the surface of the water.
3. Drowning people cannot wave for help. Nature instinctively forces them to extend their arms laterally and press down on the water's surface.
Pressing down on the surface of the water permits drowning people to leverage their bodies so they can lift their mouths out of the water to breathe.
4. Throughout the Instinctive Drowning Response, drowning people cannot voluntarily control their arm movements. Physiologically, drowning people who are struggling on the surface of the water cannot stop drowning and perform voluntary movements such as waving for help, moving toward a rescuer, or reaching out for a piece of rescue equipment.
5. From beginning to end of the Instinctive Drowning Response people's bodies remain upright in the water, with no evidence of a supporting kick. Unless rescued by a trained lifeguard, these drowning people can only struggle on the surface of the water from 20 to 60 seconds before submersion occurs."

In my understanding, there are 50 states, each of which can take the view that the federal government has failed to abide by the rules set for it to allow it to exist. If governors recalled their representatives and senators, declared the remaining federal government to be seditious...
