An homage to Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus done in one of my styles. It is an illustrative depiction of just the central portion of the original painting. Venus is depicted as a beautiful curvy goddess.

I have a problem where I don’t have a background in mind and then have to throw something together after the fact. So I filled it with shapes and patterns. It was still lacking. That is until I realized it looked like a Trapper Keeper for adults… so maybe this is an untapped market? lol

A parody Trapper Keeper folder I designed with a curvy artistic nude reclining in the center. The subject is rendered in a cel shaded manner. If you find Pinterest to be absolute slop and miss how it used to be, try this: Go to settings and then to "refine your recommendations". Inside is a section called "AI Content". Turn off every radio button in this section. My feed is actually interesting again. Imperfect and beautiful.

I drew a head. Then another and another. I was just trying to freestyle and try out different styles. Next thing I know I am inking and then rendering. I still consider this a sketch even though I polished it up. BTW it is really hard lighting made up facial structures without actual reference. 🫠

12 stylized head sketches to determine which exaggerations I would want to lean into for future character designs. I didn’t intend for any characters to represent real people or characters, but things do end up that way when freestyling without references. Some of the stylization is derivative of greater artists whose shoulders I sit upon. Each head has a different color background because I just thought it looked neat.

I am thinking about going back to mainly physical media again. I don't know how else to fight the klankers. I used to have a studio easel but lost it in a move. This easel will let me work at home and plein air. I'm all or nothing with this because I won't settle on craftsmanship and reliability.

Something that I learned about my DJI today: Auto upload over wifi does not upload your RAW files. To upload your RAW files, you must connect via wire or SD reader. I learned this after thinking I backed everything up and wiped the storage. I lost all my RAW files. FML. 🤦‍♀️

I haven’t created in a long time. Well, more like I haven’t felt like sharing. I hardly exist online anymore. I’ve been trying to have more experiences offline because what is real online is becoming ever more difficult to decipher. Anyways… This is called “Monumentally F*cked”
