It was great to talk to Vicky at UCB Life Issues about When the Music Fades; Spotify link below. Sometimes I worry I explain myself and the book differently in every conversation. Could there be some lack of integrity in that, I wonder to myself. 1/

Soul Survivor festivals were highlights of the summer for many church youth groups. In this personal memoir, Lucy Sixsmith raises disturbing questions about the events. www.premierchristianity.com/reviews/soul... @canterburypress.bsky.social #CofEpeeps

Soul Survivor offered teenagers freedom, faith and fun. But was it really a safe space?
In her memoir, When the Music Fades, Lucy Sixsmith revisits the popular Christian festival, Soul Survivor. Her writing raises important questions about power and safeguarding, says our reviewer

Don't Surrender: On the last Sunday before Lent, I find a spot in a back pew of a church in Bexley. My spot is a quiet spot in a building full of quiet. This space I suppose, is designed to hold enough quiet for the whole parish, breathing up into the rafters.
