When may we be done with this annual insanity of pretending we’re in different time zones for a portion of the year? If I sign up for jet lag, it should at least come with the fun of travel. 😵‍💫

Pretty daffodils blooming outside The Old School House Arts Centre in Qualicum Beach, on Vancouver Island this morning. The school house in the background is a soft yellow with white trim. There are green shrubs behind the daffodils. The morning sun is low and warm.

Right now seems like an excellent time to be reading a book. 📖 On a ban list or a good fantasy, both are great options.

Happy Caterday! What are you doing to refresh yourself? I’m working on my first Clapotis, I remember when it was originally released and never made one then. I love that @knitty.com re-released it for the 20th anniversary. 🧶 I may work more on the embroidery stitch disk patterns later. 🪡🧵
Grey long hair cat, named Grits, stretched out on his back, belly up, on a white bedspread. It’s a trap, he doesn’t want belly pets. A black cat, Patrick, is behind him to the right, curled up tight. Two crocheted blankets are folded over a bed rail. The top one is a puff stitch motif with maroon, plum, pink, and lavender blue colors. The other one is a chevron pattern in tan and beige colors. Clapotis knitting pattern from Knitty.com being knit in Malabrigo Ultimate Sock in 363 Pascal. Laid out on a crumpled white bedsheet, and stretched by a white lady’s hand to the left, highlighting the 4 dropped stitches stripes. A navy blue knitting bag with a leather handle is visible to the top left. 🧶

True alt: A well organized floss box with color series wound on thick clear acrylics bobbins that fill the box spaces well. In the long slot are pieces holding leftover working strands in an orderly fashion, the pieces are long, rectangular, and neatly hold 11 stands each.

2nd alt: Your favorite small businesses are struggling with how to find you as their social media platforms implode. Conversations are being had in the background about how to find you as you leave and go elsewhere, not just because our livelihoods depend on it but also because for many of us, you are our community too. We miss the genuine connections. The number one tried and true way to stay connected is by email. Support your favorites by making sure you’re signed up.

Finally found my logo for socials, so exchanged the headshot back out. 💛 So that my account isn't faceless, here's my face and some of the things I make.
A knolled spread of clear acrylic floss bobbins and drops, some with swatches of stitching on them, in shades of blues and greens. These are products from Lucky Jonquil.Pale skinned woman with blue eyes and a short blonde pixie, me. I'm wearing a blue dress shirt, blue beaded stick earrings, and a half-moon wood burl necklace. The background is a plain beige. A rainbow of different stitches form a sampler embroidered on a wooden surface. Included are the back stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, lazy daisy, colonial knot, and the woven wheel. The Rainbow Sampler is held over a darker wooden surface by two hands, with a sprig of greenery in the top left corner. Lucky Jonquil produces this as a full beginner friendly embroidery kit. Photo is slightly blurry because it is a still from an instructional video.

Sweater update: it had a weird lump in the back of the yoke and was too wide in the neck. Ripped the entire thing back (that was hard) and re-worked it in under 24 hours (amazing, tbh). Much improved! Now to finish it!
Reworked granny stitch sweater in bands of grey, blue, yellow, and red worsted weight wool. Laid out on grey and white crumpled bed linens with original swatch top center and a kitty leg top right.
