Completely a personal note but - my love beat cancer today. 🔔🙌🏻

When may we be done with this annual insanity of pretending we’re in different time zones for a portion of the year? If I sign up for jet lag, it should at least come with the fun of travel. 😵‍💫

Those are just amazing, how pretty! And yeah, I have plenty I never wrote up into a pattern so I completely understand that. Those are all just so pretty 💛

“Daffodils, like whispered promises, bring the fragrance of new opportunities on the breeze.” – Anne Frank

Pretty daffodils blooming outside The Old School House Arts Centre in Qualicum Beach, on Vancouver Island this morning. The school house in the background is a soft yellow with white trim. There are green shrubs behind the daffodils. The morning sun is low and warm.

Daffodils are my favorites. Thanks for this beautiful quote.

For those who don’t know me personally (most of you), I worked in independent bookstores for more than a decade. If I’m not knitting or stitching, I’m reading. I adore books. 📚

Spent time doing preliminary research on banned books today, for work. Already want to share what I’ve been finding, so here’s some info from the first 8 months of 2024: 414 censorship attempts 1128 unique titles challenged (These are only what are reported to the ALA) www.ala.org/bbooks/book-...

Book Ban Data

The American Library Association's Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) has released new data documenting book challenges throughout the United States, finding that challenges were nearly double that...

Wow, I guess those of us in apartments can starve. I’m so tired of the ‘grow your own’ rhetoric. Victory gardens are great, for an era when people had land. The land is all corporate owned now.

Skylight, Bluesky's promising version of TikTok, is available to beta test. Remember to download TestFlight from the App Store first. Looks pretty good so far.

You’re right, books will be written on it.

It really is. I’m gonna go stitch more today.

Thanks! The next design in the works is book themed 🙃

I’m past the halfway point on my sock yarn Clapotis, first I’ve ever made even though I was knitting when it came out. Also, embroidering up a ton of Yarn Ball disks to make sure my recommendations are in point.

😳 whoa. That’s a horrible thought.

Right now seems like an excellent time to be reading a book. 📖 On a ban list or a good fantasy, both are great options.

Thank you! ☺️ It’s been so much fun.

I said I’d share last week, but oof the week got away from me! That’s what happens when you go stash diving for scraps and stitch a whole bunch.

🧶 BYOY! 🧶 I’ve had so much fun the last few weeks using up yarn scraps from one of my favorite projects to embroider yarn balls. Needs less that 10 yards of light fingering to DK weight! luckyjonquil.com/products/yar...

Every small business iteration I’ve had since my daughter was small has had ‘Jonquil’ in the name - it’s her birth flower. Jonquil is a hard word, but not awful. This round I added my partner’s last name to it (it’s Luckey, dropped the ‘e’) because of the fun I could have with branding.

That’s what I’m thinking 🤔 Either way, it’s cute!

When your girlfriends really get you - you get Happy Galentine’d with a pic of their first of the year jonquils. 🥰 I hope you feel loved by those around you today too. 💛

I miss A.C. Moore. Joann’s isn’t nearby, so I may stop by every 5 to 10 years and will hardly miss it. Michael’s is super close but I don’t love their quality, and I refuse to go to Hobby Lobby. It’s a sad state of affairs lol

😅 They’ll go on the line sheet and no one knows I have kits yet.

Cutting out mini lavender tag kits for the #hhamerica trade show’s Sample Box. We’re going to be debuting our embroidery kits for the first time there! Perfect for yarn shops and other crafty stores, not just embroidery shops. ☺️
