Only public reaction from major European leader I could find (so far) is from Starmer. Not only suggest little influence, but also little warning despite conducting talks with Iran on Friday. Also no pre-coordinated response despite knowing for days US strikes could happen

Sean Hannity, and many others, are posting this video claiming it is the explosion at Fordow after the US military bombed it. Its not. This is from Syria in December 2024.
Alt text: A screenshot from Sean Hannity’s Instagram story shows a massive fiery explosion lighting up the night sky over a distant landscape, with a large white flash and rising smoke resembling a blast cloud. A dark silhouette of a rooftop and satellite dish is visible in the foreground.

Remember when we agreed that the environment catastrophe was the biggest threat for humanity? Yes, with B2 aircraft that refill midair to bomb and risk radiation, starving people while bombing them and destroying infrastructure everywhere while threatening to increase oil prices we will arrive there

I see many folks making many uncaveated claims about what happens next. I also see the best and most seasoned experts admitting that they don’t know what’s coming—and advising us not to buy what such fully confident pundits are selling. Trust the latter view. We’re in largely uncharted territory.

Military strikes make people's brains fall out of their heads. Why would anyone believe anything Trump says? We have no idea at this point if Iran's nuclear facilities remain intact or if they were "totally obliterated."

"war of choice" is a great term. I highly recommend to read @sethabramson.bsky.social take on how this war is personal to Trump and has been long in the making (as he himself just announced). He betrails the MAGA movement for basically revenge thirst and delusion of what it means to be powerful.

7/ My assessment as his biographer is that at this point only one thing can stop a war with Iran that will define the next two decades of US foreign policy and cause countless deaths around the world: if the MAGA base so loudly yells about this that Trump worries his entire movement could collapse.

Not "preemptive." Illegal. There is no evidence of an actual or imminent armed attack by Iran. This is a blatant violation of the UN Charter. It has no legal basis in the right of self-defense. Now we wait to see how many civilians will die because of this insanity.

Preventive use of force against another state is illegal. Preemptive self-defense is much more arguable. This explains why these words matter and why states using force like to portray their use of force as "preemtive". Including when no attack is imminent.

If you’re not lucky enough to be in Brazil today, this is how the country is reacting to Fernanda Torres’ Oscar nominations—a near-unanimous Brazilian favorite—and I’m Still Here. Bonus: the Oscars ceremony coincided with Carnival, Brazil’s dearest holiday 😅
This collage features multiple images celebrating Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres, blending elements of Oscar nominations, Carnival, and national pride.
	1.	Top left – A Brazilian flag with Fernanda Torres’ face is displayed on a fence, humorously replacing the national emblem. She is pictured smiling and making a thumbs-up gesture.
	2.	Top right – A giant puppet of Fernanda Torres, dressed in a black gown and holding a Golden Globe-style trophy, is paraded during a street festival, likely as part of Carnival celebrations.
	3.	Center left – A mock magazine cover from “O Povo”, featuring Fernanda Torres’ face surrounded by stars. The headline reads: “Oscar, Carnival, and Brazil!”, reinforcing the festive and celebratory mood.
	4.	Center right – A group of revelers at a street Carnival bloc called Confraria do Pasmado in Pinheiros, São Paulo, all wearing masks of Fernanda Torres’ face, creating a humorous and surreal effect.
	5.	Bottom left – A mural painting shows Fernanda Torres alongside another woman, with the Brazilian flag as a background, indicating admiration for the actress.
	6.	Bottom right – Another Brazilian flag with Fernanda Torres’ face replaces the national emblem, hanging outside a decorated building, likely part of a Carnival celebration or a themed event.

The collage humorously captures Brazil’s enthusiasm for Fernanda Torres’ international recognition, turning her into an unofficial national symbol during Carnival and the Oscars season.
