Thank you. Same story in NE Scotland region, if my math is right, margin for last seat was 529 in favour of the Tories, runner up Greens, IGV got 2354, so if even one in five voter was mistaken that's another MSP that the Greens lost due to the spoiler party. Would have made the Greens joint 2nd

@dhothersall.bsky.social these are my calculations and think they are correct. The tories won the last seat in Mid Scotland and Fife by 434 votes, or a swing of 217. IGV got 2490 votes, more than ten times that. So even if only one in ten IGV votes were given by mistake, it costs the Greens one MSP.

Not even half. These are the calculations, SGP lost the last seat to the Tories by 434 votes, or a 217 swing. IGV got 2490 votes, so if even less than 10% of IGV voters actually inteded to vote Greens, they lost a seat because of this spoiler party. The @electoralcommission.org.uk has lots to answer

And as it began, so it must end: in the drizzling rain, on a ding-ding wagon. We made it home! #FlightFree Edinburgh to Austria, and back, with a dog

As always, because #EurostarHatesDogs instead of just taking a train from Brussels to London like civilized people we have to get a taxi from Calais to Folkestone. Huge waste of time, money and CO2, but there's no alternative when traveling with a pet. Thanks, #Eurostar

Apparently ICE 558 will both depart and NOT depart from Berlin hbf. How is that possible? The secret is that it moved platform, so according to DB's system it technically won't depart from hbf, since it's at a different level of hbf. But in the same literal hbf building. Yep. #FunWithDeutscheBahn

Arrived 15 minutes late but no bother, as the connection was also late! The second leg of today's journey will bring us to Prague, where important work quality testing the local beer produce will take place over the next 3 days

With 45 minutes of delay, we made it! #Edinburgh to #Austria #FlightFree travel is possible, but especially with a dog not for the faint of heart. 2 days of travel with a city break in between wouldn't be too bad, but the additional day due to the taxi-in-eurotunnel leg (thanks, Eurostar) add up

Made it on time! Onwards toward Munich on this ICE Sprinter. Isn't it funny that the Inter City Express was so slow it needed a Sprinter version? I do find it funny #FunWithDeutscheBahn

Hard to believe it, but made it on time to Frankfurt. The ICE was one of the new ones, very comfy too. And now onto today's final leg, Frankfurt to Dresden on this older model. Green livery though!

And now, the real fun begins. In the hands of #deutschebahn from Brussels to Dresden, via Frankfurt. Will we arrive? Will we depart? Who knows! At least the train did arrive, which is already something. May the gods have mercy, cause DB won't. #FunWithDeutscheBahn

Rise and shine! No time to dilly dally as another long day of travel awaits. First hop, #TGV to Brussels. Fun fact: even though we have #interrail passes, it is cheaper to buy standalone TGV tickets than the mandatory seat reservation with the passes. One day SNCF will discover math, but not today

Made it to Calais in ~3 hours! Mostly thanks to the taxi driver who knows his way around the channel terminal like the back of his hand. And now for the last leg of the day, this TER to Lille. Almost there!

So instead of a quick direct journey from London to Europe, we have to go to Folkestone first, then take a taxi, go to the euro tunnel terminal to board the big chonko here, LeShuttle, and get to Calais. Not only this is stupidly expensive, but it also takes anywhere between 3 and 8 hours, yay

The answer is that due to Exhibit A picturesld here, we can't, as #eurostar hates dogs and is the only #train company in Europe that doesn't allow dogs on board, because perish the thought

As quickly as we got in London, we are out again on this high speed train to Folkestone. Fun fact: the only high speed line in the UK, birthplace of the railways, is the one you take to get the **** out of it. Which is handy, given mala tempora currunt
