Yesterday's WWDC was dull. The most interesting thing wasn't a product announcement: it was a diagram. The user at the center. An AI layer around them. Devices and services connected to that layer. I've seen similar AI strategy slides from many companies. Apple isn't leading, it's catching up.

A lot of the “AI is killing UX” narrative starts from a very wrong premise: that UX is just UI. UX was never about pushing pixels. It’s about solving human problems, shaping technology around people’s needs, desires, and agency. That doesn’t disappear in the AI era. It's more relevant than ever.

I tried Claude Design for hours and I am somewhat perplexed. You can easily edit UI visual properties, but your prototypes don’t expose code. To work with code and get more control you must export the prototype to Claude Code. That split feels limiting and misreads what design should be.
