The team had run out of spoil storage space at Gallows Reach and is only half way through constructing the canal section up to the lift bridge. So they had a 'muckshift' this week to create more temporary storage space. They've cleared about fifty metres so far. #UKCanals #WeDigCanals #Lichfield

Looking along the towpath shaded by a tree, but into the sun. Along the canal there are several boats moored on the opposite bank, and one has smoke coming from a chimney causing a bit of a haze further along the canal.

For my friends on the #ukcanals who wonder why I’m so comfortable boating on the Trent or Avon, the Ohio River here at home is at 16’ ATM (4’ above normal pool). Minor Flood stage is 55’. Our record flood is 86’. Pano below. Will try to drop a video.

Now that we’ve moved onto the #narrowboat it’s a month of short cruises designed to test and configure the electrical system, getting the solar and generator to work together properly. We cruised to the Welford Arm today and will stay the night. Tough life but someone has to do it🤷‍♂️
