My record dealer ordered me this record weeks ago, but apparently it didn't want to leave Italy and got lost in transit, then sent back. Got the ping yesterday to say it had finally landed in East Belfast 😊

At least it arrived while there was still some blackberry action. Yes, there is a connection.

Just to fully underline how spiteful this shit is for those unaware: On the left is the route the Orange Order have been ordered to take for the past 3 decades without trouble. On the right is the route that has brought hundreds of cops to Drumcree. The only motivation is sectarian antagonism.

Pet Shop Boys first remix album, Disco, turns 40 next month. That gave me an excuse to revisit and re-contextualise it, musing on the evolution of the remix album and the relationship between dance and pop in the 80s. jointhefuture.net/2026/09/23/r...

Arguably the greatest Brazilian batucada meets euphoric piano house anthem which, legend has it, got played by a guest DJ at Benji B's hallowed Deviation night at Gramaphone in East London before it was ripped from the CDJ much to the surprise of the dancefloor who had been enjoying the intro

Arguably the greatest song to be recorded 4 times by 3 iterations of a band under 3 different names and in 2 languages, and then remixed once before it reached number 2 (eventually scoring a number 1 when it was covered by my mate's little brother's band a decade and a half later)
