#Alphabetchallenge #WeekLForLookingIn #Stunday Looking into the nave yesterday Manchester Cathedral
A photo looking towards the nave in Manchester Cathedral yesterday.
The grand golden pipes of the Stoller organ can be seen at the opposite end of the Cathedral.
Either side are grand stone arches with stained glass windows above.
There are two sections of seats either side with a few people stood and sat on the right.
My phone was placed upside down on a small mirrored table so everything is reflected in the photo

17th century? Button with very faint circle design on front. What interests me more are the traces of filing to clean up the shank.

Apart from cropping, I do no post editing of photos for here. I rely on photo trickery, adjusting light and depth of field to make the finds stand out Just the addition a small stand allows the object to be in focus, and the background blurred (stunt phone used for picture)

Been extremely quiet in the field today, in fact I was about to call it a day. Saved by a splendid medieval Eddy Penny, minted in Canterbury.

With a few very rare exceptions the only coin minted from around the 760's to 1279 was the silver penny. Fractions would be achieved by cutting the coin, in half for a halfpenny, and quarters for a farthing (aka fourthing) From 1279 under Edward I round fractions were produced.

Completely missed seeing this as a coin in the field. Was very corroded, and no details showing. It's only since I put it in the tumbler I realised it was a coin. Seems to be a 1 Liard, of Louis XV Dating to c. 1767-1774 Although I don't know exact find location, I know roughly
