I’ve noticed a weird phenomenon where when I open an article in archive dot ph or a similar mirror, or sometimes when I do the plain text/reader view of an article, it adds an umlaut over any word that has two O’s (like cooperate). So bizarre.

I’m a big fan of using an app to export frames of videos I take at concerts or theme parks out so I can edit them as photos but my god the quality difference btwn a photo and a video taken with the same lens is wild. wtf is happening here.

But if you’re gonna buy up all these start ups’ tech to enhance your cameras the least you can do is make it so the photos I take with any lens besides the main lens in any condition that isn’t bright daylight doesn’t look like a blobby mess. Also, I hate that the videos crop in the sensor.

Like Apple’s main wide lens on their pro models already uses computational software to do HDR coloring and lighting so why isn’t their software doing the same with the other lenses? Is it bc the sensor isn’t complex enough to handle all the lenses? I understand the glass itself has limitations.

I understand it’s less MP and and it is a side effect of the lens but I hope Apple figures out how to make their ultra wide lens stop being so much darker and the colors more muted than the regular wide lens. Granted I feel the same about their telephoto lenses. Bc it’s computational stuff anyway?

I’ll say it, Apple is making some of the best tv right now. Severance, Pluribus, Widow’s Bay, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, and they made my beloved Shmigadoon and Hello Tomorrow (both gone too soon!). The 19 and 18 Emmy noms for Widow’s Bay and Pluribus are well deserved.
