they always show their asses eventually because the thing is that you cannot truly, sincerely care about women if you don’t care about trans women. the minute you carve off any one subcategory of women you claim are “lesser” in some way, you’ve declared women’s rights to be conditional by definition

Spooky shopkeeper: yes, I will warn you... every item comes with a price.

Me: yes, I know how shops work

Spooky Shopkeeper: The price may be more than you expect to pay.

Me: Yes, I know how US taxes work, too.

Shopkeeper, increasingly exasperated: I'm trying to tell you that I'm evil and offering these wares with no regard for the harm they will do!

Me, also increasingly exasperated: I know what capitalism is too goddammit

With great power comes great responsibility. Voting is power. Responsibility doesn’t just mean “don’t use it for evil.” It also means “don’t abstain from using it for good.”

I think she'll be amazing in the role. My only complaint is that recasting so late in the film series will be a bit abrupt if you're trying to watch them all in order. But the Aslan role won't be the only one recast, they'll ALL have to be at this point, it's been so long.

Books on the go in the early 90s: the Sony Data Discman. Just been reading about this while downloading a 0mhz collection version of the books and a software reader. Released in late 1991 and early 1992 for $499.99, it had a backlit LCD and used the EB format stored on 3" CDs in hard-case caddies.
From the Museum of Information site: a photo of the box for the Electronic Book Player DD-8, the Discman, with a photo of the unit itself and a hard caddy CD next to it.Also from the same site: an overhead viw of the discman with a Pocket Interpreter disc have inserted into a caddy. From the same site: a photo of the Data Discman showing its little querty rubber keyboard, direction keys and YES NO buttons. Plus the LCD screen with quite a clear blue-line artwork of a street scene, the title page for the Pocket Interpreter software.
