It's always a thrill to see Elizabeth I's (larger than life) signature! You can see it in person in our "How to Be a Power Player: Tudor Edition" exhibition now through the end of July. And check out this opportunity to learn to read early modern handwriting! Tricky but rewarding! 👇

An absolutely stunning photo! The 35m-long #Roman shipwreck, along with its cargo of 6,000 (!) amphorae was discovered in 2019 off the coast of the Greek Island of Kefalonia. It’s one of the largest Roman shipwrecks found in the Mediterranean. Photo: Ionian Aquarium 🏺 AncientBluesky
A large accumulation of amphorae scattered across the sandy ocean floor. The amphorae are densely clustered, with many partially buried in the seabed, forming the distinct shape of a ship. The scene is illuminated by dim, bluish underwater light.

A sad day for historians of the Reformation and early modern Europe. Thomas A.
