Album of the day (for the last time): Lynyrd Skynyrd - Nuthin' Fancy. A somewhat underrated Skynyrd album but one which I think is a lot better than some give it credit for. In fact I prefer it to 'Street Survivors' (the last RVZ album).

Tomorrow will be my last album of the day for a while. I'll be putting away the vinyl for another year (until April) and I'll be concentrating on my 2,500 cd collection which I neglect during the warm months (it helps keep things fresh for me).

Album of the day: Neil Young - This Note's For You. Yet another NY album I know. This one is less well known coming as it does mid to late 80s. Hugely underrated foray into Jazz and Blues which is a lot better than most of those 80s albums.

It was very noticeable the other day that only The Guardian reported Reform's Think Tank wanting to "abolish the State Pension". They mentioned everything else but not that. What was even more galling was that the Think Tank actually went on to say "the State Pension acts like a 'Ponzi' scheme."

Did King's X 'invent' Grunge? IMO no. Some could argue that 'Grunge' was invented when Neil Young wrote 'Mr Soul' with Buffalo Springfield back in 1967. Or what about fellow Seatttle band Queensryche and the album 'Operation Mindcrime' in 1988? www.youtube.com/watch?app=de...
