Weapons companies give generously to both major parties. More than a quarter of the National Press Club sponsors are part of the global arms industry. They contribute about $525,000 a year. I'm sure no connection to the ever increasing repressive policing laws at both federal and state levels.

How many Australians know? In Arabic, Nabka means “catastrophe.” It refers to the “mass displacement, dispossession, and ethnic cleansing of approximately 700,000 to 800,000 Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war and the creation of the State of Israel.”

Extraordinary attack from ABC management against the most senior elected union representative at the ABC - Labor should be speaking out against threats by ABC management against Michael Slezak and the MEAA. Critical thinking, critical writing, should never be weaponised against staff at the ABC.
Fight erupts between union and ABC’s head of news

The ABC’s new head of news Simon Robinson is staring down the barrel of a staff revolt just four weeks after joining the public broadcaster, with its union committee labelling a threat of disciplinary action against a senior journalist an attack on press freedom.

The ABC’s Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance house committee called an urgent meeting for its members on Monday after Michael Slezak, who is also the federal president of media at the union, was threatened with disciplinary action over a piece he wrote in The Australian Financial Review.

Boorloo Perth turned out for the Global Day for Gaza too today. Those who wonder what they would have done to stop the Nazi genocide in Europe have a clear view… it’s similar to whatever you are doing right now.
A large crowd of people holding signs, photos, flags, and wearing keffiyeh stand listening to speeches condemning Israel’s brutal genocide in Gaza. A man holds a sign that shows a Palestinian woman holding the Palestinian flag. The sign reads:
TELL LABOUR GENOCIDE IS A RED LINE

A large crowd of people holding signs, photos, flags, and wearing keffiyeh stand listening to speeches condemning Israel’s brutal genocide in Gaza. A man stands holding his sign that reads:

PROUD
ACHIEVEMENTS
50,000 * MURDERS
CHILDREN
INCLUDED STARVING TO DEATH TWO
MILLION CIVILIANS

NAZIS
WERE
PROUD

UNTIL NUREMBERG

Another sign reads:

NO PEACE ON STOLEN LAND
JUSTICE
OUR DEMAND!People in the crowd: one way is a T-shirt reading sanction Israel now.
