The socks are a delight! I love this color distribution and mirror. Sock 1 sock 2 = the best resource distribution 🧶😉

While listening to council meetings in Montreal, local mayor Sue Montgomery decided to knit in red when men spoke and in green when women spoke, when similar numbers of both attended. Day 1 results.... #WomensArt
Photo of uneven knitting with much larger amounts of red yarn than green

Sleeping Buddha, Nanzoin Temple, Fukuoka, Japan.
Gently resting its head upon its hand in peaceful meditation, the colossal bronze Reclining Buddha (Nehanzō) reclines against a backdrop of dense mountain foliage. The statue’s soft verdigris patina glows beneath a diffuse sky, highlighting the calm, serene contours of its closed eyes, sculpted hair curls (nikkei), and golden byakugō mark on its forehead. In the foreground, neat rows of dark stone memorial steles, meticulously engraved with gilded Japanese characters, stand like quiet guardians at the foot of the monumental figure. The scene invokes an ethereal sensory atmosphere: the crisp mountain air of Sasaguri, the fragrant drift of burning incense from nearby altars, the rustle of cedar leaves in the valley breeze, and a profound, enveloping silence that settles over the sacred sanctuary
Located at Nanzo-in Temple in Sasaguri, Fukuoka Prefecture, this grand bronze monument—stretching 41 meters in length, 11 meters in height, and weighing approximately 300 tons—is celebrated as one of the largest bronze statues in the world. Erected in 1995, the Nehanzō was constructed to house sacred Buddhist relics gifted from Myanmar as an expression of gratitude for decades of medical supplies and humanitarian aid provided by the temple. Nanzo-in also serves as the chief location on the historic Sasaguri 88 Temple Pilgrimage route, welcoming pilgrims into the forested hills of Kyushu. The extraordinary bronze casting and structural engineering required to realize the massive monument embody the zenith of Japanese monozukuri (artisanal mastery and technological precision), integrating monumental art harmoniously within the surrounding topography.

I'm suddenly craving macarons and petit fours... My own pattern not yet available for sale. Yarn is Malabrigo Arroyo Natural and Mecha Diana. #knitting #knitsky 🧶
A deeply dimensional hand knit texture closeup at an angle. It has a raised grille work look in natural over recessed striped lozenges in a brick work tiling. Stripes in natural and a red gold green variegated. The stripes grow in height from 2 variegated stripes to 4.

Thank you so much! The dragon scales are a favorite, slow to knit but very cool effect. Humble Dragon is good to use as a learning tool. Just a simple tube in the round. No WS inc dec and special stitches to contend with on a first go www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

That will be perfect then! Toe up because otherwise your scales will be upside down 🙃 They only align one way and aren't workable with the same effect top down. Believe me i've tried, it would be much more convenient

I think the scales would be really nice as a sock texture. But it may have too much depth of texture for sensitive feet, think you would need to find a transitional solution for a smoother foot into the scales. Also keep in mind bottom/toe upward. I would love to see it in a sock though

For #showmeyourknits I'm particularly proud of this design. #knitting 🧶 #knitsky #kiku #dragon petals 🐉 Pattern: Kiku www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... By @lavishcraft.bsky.social (me 😉) Yarn: Wonderland Fibers Mad Hatter Down the Rabbit Hole.
A hand knit crescent shawl lying flat on a weathered wood grain background. The yarn is a fade of pale speckled blue to deep speckle blue center top outward. The stitch pattern is ascending sized dragon scales with a petal like look. A closeup of the texture and colors of the previously described shawl.

Yes. Taking breaks is something I'm bad at. I get hyper focused, don't notice my back is killing and my elbows are literally creaking from being locked in position, until I go to move again. Is not a good habit but hard to break.
