THE LEGACY OF THE GReAT MUGHALS
Shah Jahan's reign ended suddenly in 1658 when he became seriously ill and his third son, Aurangzeb, scized power. The new emperor hugely expanded the empire and in that process irreversibly weakened it. Within decades of his death in 1707, the Mughals exerted little power beyond the walls of Delhi. In contrast to the relative stability and long reigns of the Great Mughals, the next 150 years saw rapid turnover- 15 further emperors sat on the Mughal throne before the dynasty's final ruler was deposed in 1857.
The artistic splendor of the Mughal Empire's golden age, however, was not forgotten. As the empire declined, court artists and craftsmen moved to other centers of patronage, disseminating not only the skills and techniques practiced in the Mughal workshops but also the aesthetic language that had become synonymous with power and prestige. The rulers and chiefs of new courts emulated the architectural forms and ubiquitous floral decoration of Shah Jahan's reign in local styles across the Indian subcontinent
The Great Mughals' legacy endures to this day. The Taj Mahal remains one of the world's most famous and praised monuments, and the memory of the Mughals unsurpassed wealth and power iS evoked whenever a titan of business or industry is called a "mogul."

#Wip #WIPWednesday DISCLOSURE DAY (no spoilers to speak of just my take on this being a movie about dating in Northern Virginia)

Jane should never have told the other nurses about the convent. They assume she’s clueless about dating, or sex. It doesn’t matter that she was married before. Wedding, then nursing degree, then dead husband, then convent. That all made it easy enough to get back into the workforce.

The dating pool, less so, but that’s not because of her time as a novitiate. It’s because she works long hours, and because she lives in fucking Occoquan. She’s been on the apps, but everybody she matches expects her to drive around the Beltway to Maryland.

When she does get past a date or two, she keeps gravitating to quiet guys who say they work “in IT” or “for a contractor” but can’t or won’t be specific about their work. That’s a DC type, and she’s sure it means something with drones, or spy satellites. At best, building apps to help systems that help kidnap kids more efficiently.

She ought to move. She can do this work anywhere. She can do it overseas, but is there any place better?
