Incredible piece by Justin Ling in Toronto Star detailing Carney's concentration of power in the PMO. Also a portrait of doubling down on the outdated conservative neoliberalism that got us here. As Matthew Remski said, Carney is Thatcher, just more likeable. archive.ph/rny4a #cdnpoli

Why are Indigenous people now being subjected to levels of overt hostility and racism unseen in decades? One chief recently told me he was denied entry into a store for being “Indian”.

Is this a conspiracy of silence or what? Not only have #vanpoli media studiously ignored mayoral candidate Kareem Allam's concerning online meltdowns but now Geoff Meggs & the odd ex-BC Lib Hotel Pacifico #bcpoli podcast ignore it & treat him as viable. What am I missing? Have they ever cited it?

THE BC NDP CAN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT VOTE-SPLITTING. Vote-splitting is almost entirely a First Past the Post thing, & the BC NDP deliberately sabotaged the opportunity to install proportional representation on a trial basis, going instead for a designed-to-fail referendum written by...Dave Eby. #bcpoli

Taylor Lorenz is doing a "pivot away from the left" as a result of the usual: getting challenged by the left (rightly in this case) plus the seduction of money. But she explains it with the old "I don't really fit anywhere on the left-right political spectrum" idea that needs to die now..

Screenshot of an article headline from the Toronto Star: Carney’s $1-trillion investment summit to feature pipelines, nuclear build-outs and data centres — but no airports. Subheading: A document obtained by the Star offers a window into the aims of the much-hyped summit taking place in Toronto next week.
