Still sick, so trying to write reviews is hard to think, but here it goes. This one is a 10 out of 10, a semi morality tale, how those in need find this along side shopping street, Kogetsu, and his magical candies that will fix things. He does meddle. Great translation. #booksky 📕💙
Pastels older style shop, with a man with a fox tail standing in the doorway. Tables and shelves of wares on the porch.

Halloween being my favorite time of year, having lived in a small town that mimicked suburbs where the streets were FULL of children and parents and almost every house at least had their lights on when the kids were little, that is what Halloween is about - community. Big win for the kids.

Geese are containers of all the spite, meanness, and hate taken from Canadians, transferred to them in the annual Emotional Conflux, a week after Moose-hatching season ends. The energy radiates from the CN Tower, across the ionosphere, and into geese around the globe.

The lady who owns the pizza parlor in town was joking with me when I went to pick up our dinner. She ended with - "I'm just here to watch the shit show!" to which I said "There's plenty to watch!" Friday evenings in a small town.

Doing the adult, focus on myself thing and deciding that I cannot do any part of Fall Festival this year, and that other folks in the county in the same job as me can carry the load this time. My health sucks right now, and doing my best to avoid the spring medical conditions I had. Staying home!

Getting roofing estimates, and boy are they all over the board. Once company quoted me a roofing type the exact same as another company with an equal reputation, and it was double the first company. And valued at 57% of the cost of the house when we bought it 9 years ago. Holy hells.

Blue background, reddish frog in a wizard's peaked hat, robe, with a large bow under his chin. He is holding up a finger that is glowing at the tip.

Text reads "All of my character development has been against my will."

Looks like this was done by The Frog Mage or is titled The Frog Mage.

Microscale world. I has to be hawks; another two gone. Dogs, coyote, bobcats leave feather drop. The hawks here rarely do. I am baffled why it is only happening on my long days I'm not home. Maybe it's cause I go out more when I hear the chickens fuss. Maybe the hawks don't like me. I dunno.

Microscale world - welp, down two of the juvenile chickens yesterday. Seems our baby monitor is dying, so a new one will be gotten Tuesday (we use it to hear the chickens when the windows are closed.) Too close to 50, apparently - that's our cursed flock size number.

A four-panel comic by @davecontra:

1. Top left: A frog underwater holds a helmet and says, "FINALLY! MY EXPLORER HELMET IS COMPLETE!"
2. Top right: The frog is now on land, wearing the helmet full of liquid, and says, "NOW I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED TO VENTURE BEYOND THE POND."
3. Bottom left: A bird on a branch says, "HEY DUMBASS, YOU'RE AN AMPHIBIAN. YOU DON'T NEED WATER TO SURVIVE OUT HERE." The frog looks up, surprised.
4. Bottom right: The frog, pointing to the helmet, replies, "VODKA." The bird looks confused.

And saltine crackers. And chicken soup. And game shows. Also ginger is a medicine, if you get the ginger ale with real ginger in it.
Jerrod Brosean says (second comment) I don't know who need to hear this, but Ginger Ale is not medicine.

Elon Thrust replies - not by itself. you have to lay down too.

Tub repair trial number 2. I think I used too little last time, so it recracked along the same crack. More spray foam underneath, the filler on top - I hope I used enough activator for it to cure properly as it was rather thick and hard to stir. One hour in, and it is still tacky, but drying.

Microscale world - the apple butter from the bag of apples that was not good has spent all day cooking down; almost ready to jar. The rest of the grape jelly is getting made - glad I bought a whole bunch more jars. The chicken chowder is the next cook. And I ran out of yarn to finish a hat. 😑

I guess I don't understand the flex of bragging when you basically stole from someone at a yard sale and made a huge profit off it reselling. Or the flex of being so unethical to NOT ask them if they are sure about the price and let then know it's got a higher value.

It's September, my Fall allergies have started like they can read a calendar, and what is the temp right now? 96 degrees. In town, it topped 100. Leaves are already changing color, gardens are starting to be done (except the tomatoes this year), the buckeyes are falling... And we have July temps.

If you have decided that prosecuting someone over them stealing a loaf of bread is more important than making sure that person has food and helping out, you are the type of person who can keep far away from me. But no worries, we'll make sure you get fed WHEN you get to that point too.

Broke woman inherits a house from a relative she didn't know existed. And as expected, it goes down hill from there. I'm lost because the timeline seems almost 1950s, but is modern. The "Haunting" pays out- it's good. Good ending. Good tension. Worth the time. 8 out of 10 #bluesky 📕💙

Dolly Parton's passing is effortlessly proving that if you spend your life being nice and kind and generous instead of mean and cruel and selfish, then apologists for mean cruel selfish bullies won't have to go around scolding people for cheering when you die, because there will be no cheering.

Today, we grieve the loss of Dolly Parton, who has done so much for E. TN, for literacy and helping children grow a love of reading. Read a book to a child in her honor this this week. Have your child read a book to you in her honor. Thank you so very much for all you have done for us, Dolly.

The Sound of Rain Before You Were Born

it was falling
on roofs that are gone now

it was moving
through the grass you have never seen

there were leaves
that caught it in the dark
and let it go again

it passed into rivers
already forgetting

and into the mouths of fish
and roots in the earth
that would hold you one day

no one knew
you would be here
listening

If everyone would do this, it would helps sooo many kids with their comprehension skills, readings skills, writing skills and critical thinking skills. #justreadadamnbook
MobiLibrarian says:

"Get any physical book from a library or thrift shop. Have your kid read one chapter. Have them write by hand one paragraph about what they read. Talk to them about it. Your kid is now destined for the top 10% in the future. The bar is low and getting lower.
