We've seen this movie. @propublica.org once documented Facebook repeatedly saying its tracking data wasn't used commercially. Until it was. Now Meta says these terms won't change its behavior. We're supposed to trust that over the words it wrote into terms? No. 5/5 www.propublica.org/article/its-...

Note, Meta faces publishers' lawsuits alleging it torrented pirated books from shadow libraries to train its AI. Trial date was set just yesterday for May 3, 2027. Meta looks to now be trying to write sweeping website scraping rights into its terms. Quite a coincidence. Or a wake-up call, all. 4/5

Excellent reporting by @niemanlab.org making ALL aware. Meta claims it's simply consolidating existing terms and this won't change its crawling. Then why is Meta demanding sweeping permissions in a binding contract? Why explicitly authorize AI training? 3/5 www.niemanlab.org/2026/10/meta...

This isn't just when you post your content on Meta. These new terms reach outside its walled gardens to any websites "associated with your products." Potentially powering its AI empire, including Muse, without licensing deals. And if you keep using its services, Meta claims you consented. wth. 2/5

IN AUGUST 2025, Katie Zacharia, who debuted this week as President Trump's new press secretary, appeared on Fox News to lambast the "brazen" and"callous" street takeover drivers of Los Angeles who have "not faced consequences for the last decade under Soros-backed" district attorneys.

"They do not care about human life," Zacharia declared

What Zacharia didn't say on air was that, the very same day she was denouncing reckless drivers on L.A. streets, she was due to complete traffic school for the latest of multiple distracted-driving infractions that she has racked up across Southern California.

Did ya know Marco Rubio's brother-in-law had a $75M drug ring? And now— "Rubio is helping carry the torch for a now decades-old U.S. foreign policy: claiming to fight drug trafficking while in fact tolerating, protecting, or even cooperating with…the criminality Rubio purports to be concerned with."
And as the nation’s top diplomat, Marco Rubio has in some respects served as a friend and accomplice of drug trafficking or criminal enterprises, earning him the moniker “Narco Rubio” from critics. The complaints extend well beyond noting Rubio’s cocaine-trafficking brother-in-law. Rather, it’s that Rubio is helping carry the torch for a now decades-old U.S. foreign policy: claiming to fight drug trafficking while in fact tolerating, protecting, or even cooperating with criminal enterprises that advance U.S. establishment political and intelligence aims.

In his role as secretary of state, Rubio has protected, praised, and propped up a murderer’s row of Latin American leaders who each have ties to the criminality Rubio purports to be concerned with.

Share

For years, Rubio has praised former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe, and defended him against allegations of bribery and fraud. The Pentagon has identified Uribe as a Colombian politician “dedicated to collaboration with the Medellin cartel at high government levels,” as being “linked to a business involved in narcotics activities in the U.S.” and being a “close personal friend” of Pablo Escobar. On the other hand, Rubio perhaps appreciates Uribe’s efforts to stamp out communist insurgencies in Colombia – to the point of committing war crimes.

Rubio said last year that Ecudoran President Daniel Noboa “has done more just in the last couple years to take the fight to these narco-terrorists… than any previous administration.” Five months before that, Noboa’s family fruit business was revealed to have trafficked 700 kilos of cocaine to Europe. (Notably, this summer, an anti-corruption activist who was investigating ties between Noboa’s family and cocaine trafficking was found dead in her home with a noose around her neck; and days later, a prosecutor who had been investigating the drone attacks on Ecuadorian fishing boats carried out by the Trump administration was shot dead in the streets).
