Die Dürre ist tatsächlich noch weitaus schwerwiegender als die Temperaturen. Die schlappe Front, die ab Donnerstag mal Regen bringt darf nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, dass es wahrscheinlich zu trocken weiter geht.

Derzeit erleben wir ähnliche Temperaturabweichungen wie bei den tödlichen Hitzewellen im Sommer. Nur, dass sie nun als "angenehmes Spätsommerwetter" durchgehen und von den Medien auch noch als solches hofiert werden. Das muss sich dringend mal ändern. #HerbstHitze www.mtwetter.de

Tornadoes are not uncommon in Germany. Tornadoes of IF3 intensity or higher, however, are. The #tornado in #Ohrdruf on August 19 has now been classified as such. In terms of associated wind speeds, it corresponds to an EF4 tornado; however, the IF scale allows for instantaneous 3D winds.

I cannot quantify the impact of climate change. However, the oceans, which are getting warmer due to climate change, and the increased evaporation from them are likely to lead to higher water vapor levels in the atmosphere overall.
