After a few months work, I finally have the great pleasure of (re-)introducing bigtoon.wiki (formerly known as The Big Cartoon Wiki)! This is a central repository to find scenes featuring belly expansion like inflation and weight gain throughout cartoons and other media!

Here's a preview. The original wiki used a very old version of MediaWiki, so a lot of effort has gone into making the wiki compatible with up-to-date versions. Trying to keep the aesthetic similar but I had to switch to a different theme for compatibility. There's also a custom video player now.
The current iteration of The Big Cartoon Wiki. A lot is likely to change here. The website has a vibrant aesthetic with lots of oranges and browns.

Baby's first vet appointment! She did super well, and she got not only a clean bill of health, but it turns out that a previous diagnosis she got for her eye was incorrect. Her left eye isn't damaged at all it turns out, it's just a dark pigmentation in one of her eyes that looks like a torn pupil!

Quick update on Elo after her first shed in my care! I've been very lucky to end up with her in particular, because she's not very timid or shy, and seems to feel enrichment from her handling sessions! She won't eat from tongs yet, but she does eat provided I leave her alone with her prey.

This past Saturday I ended up with my first pet reptile! I'd like you to meet Elo! She's an approx. 5 year old Leopard Gecko whom I've assumed responsibility for. She's already showing her personality and I'm absolutely in love 🥰
Elo, my new leopard gecko, peering out from a terrarium decoration. She is a normal morph, meaning she is yellow along her back with dark brown spots and white along her belly.Another picture of Elo hanging out inside her cork bark hide. In this picture you can see she has an issue with her right eye. This has been examined by a vet and she's been diagnosed with having a genetic eye defect. Her pupil won't open/shut like the other eye, but she's not in pain from it and she can likely still see out of this eye, just with degraded vision. The reason I say this is because she is using both eyes to observe me. Since I'm unfamiliar to her, I believe she would definitely favor her good eye to look at me if she couldn't see out of her bad eye.Another picture of Elo, gazing at the camera. There is glass between her and me here.Final picture of Elo. Here she is basking under her heat lamp. You can also see her full body clearly in this picture.

Just wanted to share my gratitude for all the well wishes and congratulations on mine and Aster's engagement! We're so blessed to be surrounded by such great friends and acquaintances! It was a long time coming, and we would have done it sooner if it weren't for the distance and our finances getting in the way of meeting in person as often as we'd like. Aster's mother is the reason this happened in the first place, and I'm so grateful she was able to arrange this trip! Us getting engaged is the first step in transforming our long-distance relationship into a marriage with shared housing. The plan is for Aster to move in with me here in Sweden. There's still a lot of unknowns, but each day from here is a step closer to sharing the rest of our lives together, and I'm excited for all of it, the good and the bad.

I, like many others, am struggling mentally, and especially so in the last number of years. Getting engaged hasn't fixed that, but it has allowed me to look down at my ring when things are tough as a reminder of why I'm still pushing ahead and who I'm still fighting for. I see a light on the horizon. Thank you.

Finished watching #Moominvalley today and wrote up my thoughts. Then for some reason I decided I should make a web app that creates pretty little photosets (with alt text!) like this from a review. 6 hours just flies by sometimes lol
Review image for "Moominvalley (2019)".
Shows poster for Moominvalley (2019) with a rating of 6 out of 10.

Review text:
'Moominvalley' is a modern adaptation of Tove Jansson's beloved "Moomin" characters. As a lifelong Moomin fan, I'm glad it exists—and disappointed by its missed potential. On the whole, it's a fine, inoffensive take on the world of Moomin. The voice cast is great, and the soundtrack is breathtaking, especially for the first season, which featured original songs from artists like MØ, First Aid Kit, and Josef Salvat—a great fit for the material. As for the animation, it can be a bit controversial to choose CG/3D animation for a TV show, and while my preference definitely leans 2D, I can't really complain. For what it is, I find the animation acceptable, even pretty good. I do find a lack of expression sometimes, but I'm not fussed about it—it doesn't present an outright problem for this show. However, I do think a different approach would do a lot to elevate it as a whole.Review continuation for "Moominvalley (2019)".

Review text:
Where Moominvalley falters is in its writing—specifically, its characters. This is a pretty critical point of failure because so much of the magic of the source material comes from the characters and their complexity, whereas in Moominvalley, they feel somewhat flat and one-dimensional.Moomintroll is written as timid and self-interested. His adventures tend to happen to him rather than because of him—he’s forced into them, or pursues them for personal gain, and frequently complains along the way. He avoids becoming outright unlikable, but this portrayal feels like a betrayal of the curious, open-hearted character I remember.Moominpappa fares somewhat better. He’s portrayed as self-obsessed and a bit foolish, but eager for adventure—which isn’t far from Jansson’s original. The problem is depth. Moominpappa was always likable to me because he's flawed, but still manages to have some level of depth and complexity. I find those attributes to be lacking here.Review continuation for "Moominvalley (2019)".

Review text:
The rest of the cast follows a similar pattern: competently written, but static. They fit their roles and rarely escape them. One exception is Snork, who feels genuinely considered—a standout in an otherwise underdeveloped ensemble. The writing quality varies widely episode to episode. Some installments are sloppy and poorly paced; most are passable; a rare few are genuinely very good. Moominvalley never pushes boundaries. It lacks the quiet magic, the melancholy, the sense of mystery and longing that permeates Jansson’s work.I enjoyed watching Moominvalley, but I often felt frustrated by it. It’s fine. It’s competent. It’s inoffensive. But it’s incapable of greatness—and because I know what Moomin can be when it is great, anything less feels like a loss.

"You cannot separate the art from the artist while the artist still profits.

As demonstrated in the section above, J.K.
Rowling uses her wealth and notoriety to advocate against transgender rights and to directly support legal cases trying to curtail those rights. Buying licensed works contributes directly to her wealth through continued royalties, which she uses to donate to anti-trans causes and to fund her own anti-trans work."

A little while back I decided to give plant care a try. Wanted to see how I would fare before sharing, I'm really new to this but aside from my blue-star fern having a couple of brown leaves, which it now has mostly recovered from, they seem to be doing great! 😇
This is a 'Zizou' Oilcloth flower that I've named "Guff". I think this one's gotta be my favorite. Both the leaves and the flowers are gorgeous. Here's my 'Prince of Orange' Philodendron that I've named "Fletch". It has just now started to unfurl a brand new of its lovely orange leaves (the one seen on the right). It has developed quickly, seems to have a lot of energy! This is my Zz plant that I've unoriginally named "Ziggy". This is one I've inherited, so it's had a few years already, but is still doing just fine, as Zz's tend to.Lastly, my blue-star fern, named "Poseidon". I also inherited this one, and its had a bit of a rough start, where some leaves started to die off early on. I've pruned those and given it a bit more water. It already gets plenty of light so that wasn't the issue. Seems to be on the recovery path though!

I'm happy to take this opportunity to share this awesome pamphlet made by @xerxes.gay If my memory serves these have been distributed since at least well over a decade ago. "Fandom" has always rubbed me the wrong way in relation to furries. The distinction does matter.
FURRY IS NOT A FANDOM
How we became radicals, punk rockers, rebels, and a revolutionary subculture without even trying.

FANS OF WHAT?
We haven't been about Bugs Bunny since the 80's. Comic fandom, Star Trek fandom, video game fandom, they all revolve around the output of an industry. Furry grew out of the absence of corporate products catering to our needs. We weren't happy just watching Disney and Looney Tunes over and over again. So we made our own culture.

Furry is not a fandom. It's a scene. We're old-school punk rock, not the Bieber Fan Club. We create our own characters, our own identities, our own images, our own stories. Fandoms have creativity, but it's all riffing off of a product dictated from above. Furry is bottom-up. Everything comes from our ideas, our roleplaying, our experiences, and our culture that we create.

Any furry who rises up and attains some kind of celebrity status does just that: they rise up. From us. Those big-name authors and comic artists who sell books at cons are all writing fan fiction of our brains. In a fandom, the fans are there because of the big names. In furry, it's the other way around, and the big names know it. You can go up to almost any "celebrity" furry and make friends the same way you would with any other fur.

We're a scene. A culture. A community.
A big, global family. There's nothing wrong with fandom, but don't call furry one. Because it's so much more.ANTI-CONSUMERISM
In the furry economy, mass-produced products aren't the star of the show. Most of our money isn't spent buying stuff, it's spent creating stuff. We commission artwork, but not to hide it in a bookcase.
We put it online to share with the world.
Every commission is one furry buying a gift for the whole community. The art gets produced, and now it's there for everyone to enjoy. Even conbadges and avatars - the most utilitarian, "fashion accessory" form of furry art - tend to end up contributed to the commons.

Most economies are powered by the idea of replicating a product and selling it over and over again to different consumers.
Furry art operates in a radically different way, through making individual contributions to the common wealth of our culture.

Think about how subversive that is. Think about how threatening that idea could be to the elite 1% if we could make the whole world run that way. As furries, we're already living it.

PACK MENTALITY
As furries, we're not afraid to love each other. We'll cuddle no problem, sometimes without even needing to know each other.
In public, no less. We can spend a good portion of our convention time just turning off our brains and enjoying the raw, primal feeling of companionship with relative strangers. We never shake hands when we meet new people. It's always a hug.

This pervasive feeling of love is what helps us build such a strong community. Local furry groups often become close-knit extended families. We form bonds stronger than blood relation. We put the camraderie of church and religious groups to shame.
By putting ourselves into an animal state of mind, we manage to shake off heaping layers of civilization and social conditioning weighing down on us, and connect with each other on a level that's almost unheard of in modern society.SEXUAL LIBERATION
Furries aren't afraid to celebrate our sexuality.
We're not ashamed of it, like so much of mainstream society. We don't think it's weird to be gay, bi, or straight; to be monogamous, open, or polyamourous; to be reserved about sex, or to be as open as a porn star.

We're picking up where the free love hippies of the 60's left off. We challenge the traditional social order about sexuality, rejecting the idea that there's anything "unacceptable" about it. What society might normally condemn as debauchery or pornography, we celebrate as beauty.

For some of us, our animal identities are a major part of exploring our own sexuality. For others, only the openness of our community is a factor. But as furries, we all tend to have a much more positive, healthy view of sexuality than the rest of the world. We know that sex is human, it's animal, it's human-animal.

FURRY IS RADICAL.
FURRY IS SUBVERSIVE.
FURRY IS REVOLUTION.

We have no audience, because we're all the creators. We have no idols, because we're all on the same level. We have no inhibitions, because love is beautiful. We have no consumerism, because we're all producers.

LET'S EMBRACE OUR NATURE AS MISFITS AND REBELS.
