The first half of this is a masterpiece. I would have watched the whole five hours straight through were it an option. Excited to see the second half.

Again though: National care service, ‘tough choices’ on triple lock, electoral reform, devolution, more public control of utilities, reopening red lines on Europe and (hopefully?) avoiding silly tax commitments is a good & coherent manifesto. But it should have been the 2024 manifesto.

Proposing that we’d get richer by categorically ending all trade with other countries is the kind of reductio ad absurdum you employ to help a slow freshman econ student grasp basic concepts.

Calling to arrest those chanting river-to-the-sea, while insisting on preferential economic relations with those making a river-to-the-sea reality happen, is not a serious position to be in.

Thelma and Louise at Young Vic will be a huge hit (saw first preview tonight). Likely West End and Broadway transfers.

Nigel Farage has a specific pull that, in the right constituency, makes him the strongest Reform candidate. Zach Polanski about to find out the same doesnt apply to him.

Seeing lots of tweets like this and there just aren't many Oxbridge professors who get fired and turn out to have a completely made up C.V and be fantasists. Plus, he was defended by a number of M.Ps and so on.

There is a certain kind of anti-Zionist out there who really hates that Abdul El-Sayed's form of anti-Zionism is not, in fact, motivated by antisemitism.
Post retweeted by David Miller, about Abdul El-Sayed: "Why do all these leftists do this little number like 10 minutes after they win? No one ever comes out and says “I love Christians and Christianity” or “I love Islam and Muslim.” Nor are they ever expected to. And people say a helluva lot worse things about those religions than they do about Judaism.

The constant performative pandering to Jews in American politics is so fcking preposterous."

A lot of people really desperately need to find some evidence that Mayor Mamdani is actually an incorrigible antisemite, because it is far more threatening to their worldview to imagine that someone with his views on Palestine might not actually like Jews and appreciate parts of Jewish culture.

The Green Party will crash at the next election if Polanski remains their leader. He's just not credible.

I have an apparently slightly lateral take on left-wing antisemitism and it is that it both exists and is not in any way typologically distinct from right-wing antisemitism. Farage and Corbyn are both racists.

I legit don't think I've read a crticially panned but popular book, at least since I was a child. Not a huge fiction guy. Have read a few spy thriller type things (e.g Red Sparrow trilogy) but they all had solid reviews.

When someone blames Jews for the ills of capitalism, we don't call that person an "anticapitalist." So why is anyone describing Tucker Carlson as "antiwar"? My latest for @theredoubt.net, on not letting right-wing antisemites avoid responsibility for Donald Trump: www.theredoubt.net/tucker-carls...

Tucker Carlson owns this presidency
Right-wing antisemites are blaming Israel instead of themselves for Donald Trump's actions. We shouldn't let them get away with it.

Polanski's opposition to anti-Semitism has been abysmal and his Jewish background is irrelevant. Inviting Farage and not Polanski is indefensible but let's not sugarcoat things.

Dean @lepetitanglais.bsky.social · 10/05/2026
Strongly disagree with this. The met factor is that senior figures at the BoD find Farage more palatable than Polanski. They think Farage will go after other minorities and spare Jews.

Jewish people have described their own traumatic experiences of anti-Semitic behaviour by Farage. He has effectively called them liars. By inviting him, the BoD is taking his side. They absolutely would not do the same with anyone on the pro-Palestine left. It is blatant hypocrisy and it stinks.
