Sunset at Gluepot. Actually - this is a 'reverse sunset' where the colour of the sunset is reflected in the opposite direction. Sometimes it pays to look behind you.

No access. My @smh cartoon.
Single frame. Left, people (a bloke in a red cap; a woman checking phone with security guard; a man with camera wearing News24 vest) entering a venue inside which are visible orange balloons, a man in an orange cap welcoming. Outside is a sign saying “ONE NATION PRESENTS PAULINE HANSON LIVE! -‘MY PLAN FOR USTRAYA’” and behind that a smaller sign saying “KEEP OUT: GUARDIAN, ABC, AGE.” To the right female reporter stands talking to camera saying, “Sadly, Mrs Hanson won’t give us access, so we can only assume that what she’s selling won’t stand up to scrutiny and is not in the public interest.”

Tides of Sorrow #comic
Tides of Sorrow
4 panel sketchbook comic. The artist clutches their chest as they are struck with bolts of pain. “Will this pain ever cease to be?” Water rolls in along the shore. “Ebbing and flowing like a tide.” The artist looks out to the horizon. “Distant at time, still always present.” A huge, crashing wave is right behind the artist, who is clutching their head. “A raging torrent at others. Posturing to swallow me up.”

I*lEThe friendship between Canada and the Netherlands is very close and goes back a long way. The Canadians played a crucial role in liberating our country. And more than a million people with Dutch roots live in Canada. We work together closely in the international arena, for example within NATO and in supporting Ukraine.
This afternoon I had an introductory phone conversation with Prime Minister @MarkJCarney.
We both have many serious concerns about the war in Iran and its impact on the region and the wider world. Along with our international partners, we are monitoring the situation closely and seeking solutions. At the same time, we remain fully focused on the war in Ukraine. During the call we also discussed opportunities to expand our cooperation in the areas of security, the defence industry, energy and trade.

Crushing reality. My cartoon in Thursday's @theageaustralia.bsky.social
A political cartoon by Megan Herbert suggesting an urban landscape. In the right foreground is a heap of sandbags, beneath which is a crushed person, arms and leg protruding from beneath. The sandbags are labelled with various things: "Exploding Housing Costs", "Insurance Premium Rise", "Increased Energy Prices", "Grocery Price Gouging", "Council Rates Hike", and "Skyrocketing Fuel Costs". Dropping from the sky and about to land on top of the pile is a whopping sandbag labelled "Interest Rate Rise", having just been cut loose by a golden helicopter emblazoned with "RBA". RBA Governor Michele Bullock yells from the helicopter, "It was a very difficult decision!" while flying off towards a blue-skied horizon.
