Because you were so kind, an update: after incorporating physical activity before bed, she has been going to sleep well but refusing to stay asleep. Which means my quiet, personal time is about 45 minutes long but jfc it’s something. She sleeps like a dream in my bed. I do not.

I really don’t think she is hitting REM. I am gonna quietly get up and see if I can make it out. Before this, she was never a light sleeper…I used her bathroom to shower bc it is nicer. Cats would come in, scream, leave…she wouldn’t stir.

I talked to her about converting her crib into a bed, but she oddly declined. She sounds like she wants a whole new bed but I cannot imagine the issue is the crib. She screamed in my ear on Thursday and now I have a wicked earache and am gonna go to urgent care tomorrow.

Update: she is exhausted. She fell asleep holding my hand but the second I got up hysterics started, and she threw everything out of her bed. We are down again, but she’s been waking up every hour or so and is apopletic if I’m not there.

No, she has chronic ear infections but got tubes. She is MUCH crankier but is still herself. Her disposition is generally very outgoing and sunny and now she seems so sad.

I think there is the introduction of real fear and I get why “little kid seeing things” is a legit horror trope because she keeps talking about the ghosts that keep her up, which I think are just thoughts? Or ghosts. Which would make this a whole new issue.
