This woman does the best she can and I'm glad she stepped up and got in officers faces. A few quick notes about "warrants" and due process when law enforcement arrest people, and how this squares with the current TRO that ostensibly blocks profiling by race, language, occupation, and location

From the LinkedIn of the woman—a white lawyer from Carlsbad, CA—who filmed this encounter and shared the video:
know we're not supposed to share things like this on Linkedn, but I'm going to share it anyway because it was horrifying and it's happening everywhere and it needs to be shared.
This morning when I was driving home after dropping my son off at summer camp, I saw a swarm of ICE agents as I drove past our local Home Depot. It looked like they were tying up some workers, and my first reaction was to pull into the parking lot.
I couldn't think. I couldn't process. I couldn't reason. I just jumped out of my car and started filming.
I then watched as these two people were disappeared into unmarked vehicles, with one of the ICE vehicles trying to back into me when I wasn't looking.
Another woman tried to help. An ICE agent tried to slap her phone down when she tried to get a phone number to call this man's family. They wouldn't let her. Instead, they whisked him away and accused her of obstructing justice.
I'm currently lying awake in bed at 11pm thinking about how these men won't return home to their families tonight, and their families will probably never know what happened to them.
I've been through some traumatic events in my life, but I've never witnessed anything like this.
This was down the street from my son's elementary school in our little peaceful coastal town.
You may not see it on the news, but you'll hear it from me because it needs to be shared.

Deploying the National Guard—over the objections of state leaders and local law enforcement—is a dangerous escalation. This isn’t about enforcing law and order, it’s about seizing power and control. Americans won’t tolerate this slide into authoritarianism.

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd. It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.
Graphs showing 25 years of budgets for the National Institute of Health, NASA, and the NSF. In all cases, the proposed budget for next year is far, far below any year of the previous quarter century.

Video Shows Aid Workers Killed in Gaza Under Gunfire Barrage, With Ambulance Lights On
The U.N. has said Israel killed the workers. The video appears to contradict Israel’s version of events, which said the vehicles were “advancing suspiciously” without headlights or emergency signals.

Now with alt-text It’s fascism and Trump et al are authoritarian fascists. That whole “Trump embodies the will and mandate of the people & Judges or laws can’t block that” thing is literally Hitler shit (& other notable fascists). Like, *literally Hitler* in the literal sense of the word literal
It is difficult in some cases to get to the very heart of the matter. But in this case, it
is not hard at all. The government is asserting a right to stash away residents of this country in foreign prisons without the semblance of due process that is the foundation of our constitutional order. Further, it claims in essence that because it has rid itself of custody that there is nothing that can be done.
This should be shocking not only to judges, but to the intuitive sense of liberty that
Americans far removed from courthouses still hold dear.
